Unless you’re not celebrating anything today, then I hope you have a great Monday.
By the time you’re reading this hopefully you’re several presents deep and gotten just what you were hoping for — and maybe some things you didn’t know you needed. I also hope that you’ve eaten far too many cookies, drank too much eggnog or eggnog-flavored coffee, and had an otherwise relaxing wonderful morning.
While I pour myself another tasty holiday spirit, it’s time for — The Queue!
Why is Liz making you write a Christmas Queue?
I’m here today because I wanted to be! Liz is a wonderful boss and would’ve been happy to let her Queue ride through to at least Tuesday or later if Anna also wanted the day off.
Someone’s gotta keep an eye on all of your shenanigans after all. I also wrote the bulk of this earlier so I wouldn’t have too much to touch on Christmas Eve to get this ready for publishing. Good job past Cory!
So definitely make sure to let Liz know she’s the best ever when it’s time for her Queue this week, I’m sure that I’m not out of line speaking for Blizzard Watch as a whole when I say that she’s a top-notch Editor and we’re all happy to do what we can to try and make her life a little easier.
Q4tQ Which franchise would you like to see a new game from in 2024? Not including those already announced of course.
Mario Kart!
It’s beyond time Nintendo. I know you keep adding new maps to Mario Kart 8 but c’mon that game came out so long ago, time for a facelift! Every time Nintendo has a game showcase I cross my fingers really hard, and they keep disappointing me! It’s very rude at this point, why won’t they think of my feelings?!
A new StarCraft or Warcraft RTS would be nice too.
In what ways could Gnomish ingenuity improve the simple Christmas tree?
Oh, so many ways! Most of which involve their applications of shrinking technology. Think of how great it would be to have a real village as your tiny village around the base of the tree! Or build a fully working real train and shrink it down, the detail would be outstanding! Sure both of those make you more of a villain than not but I’m sure you’d only use your powers ethically…
We could also mount all of our trees on the back of mechanical sheep so that the tree follows you from room to room and keeps things festive wherever you are in your house! Just make sure that you used your blowtorch to attach your ornaments and tree so that neither falls off.
Goblin technology-based trees just keep winding up in low Azeroth orbit so unless you’re trying to spruce up the space station(get it?), stick to Gnomish tech.

Let you open tiny portals to the realm of flame to let tiny Smolderon and teensy flaming scorpions through to wreak havoc on local critters.

Canst thou divulge any secrets for maximizing the esteem of the Countess when at Ember Court? I crave her gargon, but she seems to delight in watching me entertain the whole retinue of the Shadowlands repeatedly before she even makes herself available for more invites.
(No, this question was not lost in the mail for 2 years; I was just slow to get to Ember Court.)
Unfortunately, I think it’s mainly luck to get the mounts. If you’re bringing the Countess that means that you’ve unlocked the final tier of Party ranks with Anima, so just do what you can to maximize your parties by inviting the right group of friends with her, and prioritize her with any “choose a target” bonuses that you might have.
It’s pretty far out from the event being something I did weekly, so I just checked the guide on Wowhead real quick, and this was the set of amenities and guests that a commentor did for the Countess.

Getting your affinity up to the max with her also will help, but that should be fairly easy to do as long as you’re using the re-roll to bring her along each time.

How’d you get that Bacardi!! This is the opposite of “not a creature was stirring!” At least this lets him get all of his mischief out of the way tonight so that all that’s left is good luck for your Great Vaults on boxing day. Hopefully you’ll have a little bit of leftover Christmas luck too and you’ll get stellar options in your vault.
