The Queue: Well, if we must…
Look, blame Kalcheus and Jalamenos for talking about the game.
Q4tRossiQueue: have you seen this article about a void being, possibly Xal’atath, showing up in WoW Classic Season of Discovery? What do you think about the idea of Xal’atath crossing over timelines?
The thing is, there’s no reason for Xal’atath to have to cross timelines to appear in WoW Classic. As we saw in the life and times of Natalie Seline, Xal’atath has been around and active for many, many years. It was Xal’atath who used Modgud to attack the Wildhammer Dwarves and then abandoned her, and it was Xal’atath who caused Natalie Seline’s own followers to assassinate her in an effort to possess the dagger. Since Natalie Seline was assassinated during the First War, it’s quite possible for Xal’atath to be using another cat’s paw (perhaps a member 0f Natalie’s cult) to manipulate the player.
Heck, it could just be Natalie Seline herself. Sure, she’d been dead for well over a decade, but that’s not necessarily an impediment for someone who used the Void so much over the years.
Finally got around to doing LFR for the emerald dream raid. So finally did the new quests that wrap up the world tree story. Was neat and all but… did Blizzard forget Malfurion existed?
Malfurion is one of Chris Metzen’s favorite characters, so I sincerely doubt it.
Q4tQ My son picked up Phantom Liberty for Christmas. Any tips?
Well, that depends. Is your son going to be playing it, or are you? If he is, leave him alone and don’t expect him to interact with you for a while. His life is now Night City and the quest of a merc named V to survive.
However, if you’re planning on playing it, here are my suggestions:
- You will want to save often. Phantom Liberty takes the idea of actions having consequences and ramps it over a burning schoolbus — you are going to want to reload a save to see what the other possible choices look like.
- If you can, start a new playthrough and level up to access Dogtown instead of playing the expansion on a character who was in the endgame already.
- Do the mission to find Evelyn Parker first, which will unlock Dogtown once it’s all completed. Then immediately do Dogtown and the main story of Phantom Liberty, and then do the Nomads and Takemura so you get to see the new dialog options unlocked by the expansion.
- Do all possible endings of Phantom Liberty and pay attention to how they potentially unlock a new ending for Cyberpunk 2077 as a whole.
- The special new ending for the main game that Phantom Liberty unlocks is at once exceptionally well written and gut clenchingly painful to experience. It is as depressing an ending as I’ve ever seen in a game, and it is frankly perfect as Cyberpunk stories go.
- If you decide to go Monowire, focus on Int and Hacking. If you go Gorilla Arms/Mantis Blades, go Apogee Sandevistan.
- Hacking is ridiculously powerful now. So probably you should go Monowire /Hacking.
- There are a lot of new guns. S0me of them are terrifyingly good. Try them out. The Comrade’s Hammer/Sandevistan build is now significantly weaker than it was, though, so be warned.
- Play fem V. I don’t know why you wouldn’t. Unless you really just have to romance Panam/Kerry, Fem V is the way to go.
Early in CP2077 (once the “real” game starts), you briefly lose your car and get a bike instead.
I don’t really like how that particular bike handles so I decided to buy the cheapest car available instead.
.Now I have a love/hate relationship with this car.
It’s so bad, but it’s so good :P
First off, Jackie’s ARCH (especially the Tuned one) is one of the best bikes in the whole game.
Secondly, the MaiMai is utter wet dogdroppings wrapped in a fetid burlap sack and doused in pathogens. It is an abomination.
Thirdly, the Yaiba Kusanagi CT-3X is by far the best vehicle in the game, rivaled only by the recently added Yaiba Kusanagi “Peacemaker”, the Yaiba Kusanagi “Akashita”, Jackie’s Tuned ARCH, the Quadra Type-66 “Hoon”, the Quadra Type-66 “Cthulhu“, the Caliburn — especially the black one, and the Makugai MaiMai.
Yeah, I have a love/hate relationship with it too.
It’s a really nice bike.
Well, that was the Queue. Talk to y’all in 2024.
