Can you name all the minions in Hearthstone’s Say My Name Tavern Brawl?

Get ready to test just your memory of the names of the Hearthstone minions in the Say My Name Tavern Brawl. These minions are looking at you. They want you to say their name. If you ain’t runnin’ game, you actin’ kinda shady, why the sudden change? Better say the name.

Here’s what you need to know to win the Hearthstone Say My Name Tavern Brawl.

As part of the celebration of Hearthstone’s 10th anniversary, the developers created a new Tavern Brawl to honor all the amazing minions of Hearthstone. There’s no deck to make, and no class to choose. You simply click Brawl and enter into the game.

Once you do, you’re presented with a board of 14 minions, and 20 “spells.” The minions are just their picture. There’s no health, attack, or mana cost. There’s also no text, and most importantly, no name. Your hand consists of “spells” with the minions’ names.

Your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to “cast” the name on the correct minion. If you’re right, the minion is removed from the board. If you’re wrong, the whole board and your hand reset. Even if it’s on the 14th and final minion. Ouch.

I’ve been playing Hearthstone since open beta, but even for me, this Brawl was hard. I know these images. I could probably do a decent imitation of most of the sound effects. But their names? Especially the newer ones where I haven’t been buying nearly as many cards? That was rough.

How to win the Say My Name Tavern Brawl

If you remove all the minions from the board you win the Brawl. Keep in mind that you have more cards than minions so some of your cards are duds and don’t match to any of the minions. As you correctly guess and remove minions from the board, you can at least narrow your choices.

Sometimes, the names themselves will provide clues. If the name is Ironforge Rifleman, you’re probably looking for a dwarf. If the name is Charged Devilsaur, you’re probably looking for a dinosaur. Proper names or names that sound like characters are more likely to be Legendary minions. Occasionally, the description of the minion will have helpful clues.

There’s a five minute timer on the puzzle. It’s not long enough to look up all 14 names, but if you’re down to last few,  a quick Google search could save your game. Use a second screen and lookup the names. If you’re playing on your phone, use your laptop to search the names. Google Lens would be even faster.

More puzzles?

Chadd Nervig, Hearthstone Features Lead & Principal Game Designer, posted on Twitter/X that “there are 3 more puzzles in this set, including one that remains unsolved!” He encouraged players to “look up “History’s Mysteries” from your favorite creators, and then join the Secret Finding community to try to help solve the last puzzle!”

It took me a few tries, but I finally beat the Brawl. How did you do? What’s your fastest time to complete it?
