When is the WoW patch 10.2.6 release date? The Plunderstorm patch launches today!

World of Warcraft is getting a mysterious patch 10.2.6, which launches March 19, 2024. And the patch will remain a mystery right until launch, according to WoW Executive Producer Holly Longdale, who has confirmed there will be no PTR for the patch to give the patch that sense of wonder we experienced in  WoW Classic Season of Discovery.

So the big question is what’s in patch 10.2.6. Blizzard isn’t giving us any details, but the skull and crossbones logo on the 2024 roadmap has led to a lot of speculation that the patch will feature pirates. It’s as good a guess as any, but Holly’s comment that the event is “inspired by past musings from the community” had me thinking that the skull and crossbones could be misleading… but it turns out it wasn’t. Patch 10.2.6 features Plunderstorm, a limited pirate-themed battle royale-style PVP event that’s open to all WoW players — current and Classic.

There isn’t much longer to wait! Patch 10.2.6 launches March 19.
