The decks you need to win the Blood Magic Wild Hearthstone Tavern Brawl
Do you like fast games and OTK decks capable of killing an opponent before turn 3? Are you ready to sacrifice your measly hit points for UNLIMITED power? Well, Sheev Palpatine wannabe, you’re going to love this week’s Blood Magic Hearthstone Tavern Brawl.

It’s amazing how changing a single word in the Brawl rules can radically alter the results. You think you’ve played this Brawl before, but you haven’t. It’s a slight tweak to the Blood Magic Standard Brawl, because this time around it’s a Wild Brawl, as it was when it was first introduced back in 2017. As a constructed wild Brawl, the overall size of your collection will make a huge difference in the decks you can play.
The core gimmick to the Brawl remains the same. Your spells cost health instead of mana. You can cast as many spells in a given turn as your health total and card draw prowess will allow.
Major mechanics update for April 2024: The developers have made a major change to the rules of the Brawl that renders many of the older decks/strategies nonviable. The health cost for spells must be paid. Immune? Divine Shield? It doesn’t matter. Your health is still reduced, and if you don’t have enough health, you can’t cast. The health cost also bypasses armor. You can have as much armor as you want, but you must have enough health to cast the spell, and your health will be reduced, not your armor.
How to win Blood Magic Wild Tavern Brawl
Some players try to strike a balance between staying alive and casting spells to either build their board or deal damage to their opponent. With no rating to lose in this mode, some players go all in on winning with the right mulligan and concede if they don’t.
The most important thing you’ll need to win this Brawl is a good deck. In constructed Brawls, players discover the most powerful lists very quickly, which leads to the Brawl falling into a meta structure like we see on the ladder.
New Blood Magic Brawl decks for April 2024

AAEBAea5AwKU1ASX7wQT4LwD2cYD1tEDzdID29MD2d4DwvEDifcDyIAEtp8EtKAEhpIFiZIF4fgFxfkFpIEGh5AGipAG7akGAAA=
Fine! You want health, I got health. With Renathal, I have all the health. Cast, cast, cast!
dotcalm’s I’m playing DH anyway and you can’t stop me
AAEBAa6pBgAP4LwD2cYD1tED29MD+dUDxd0D2d4D8+MDwvEDifcDyIAEyoAEtp8EtKAE26QEAAA=
You can still get some impressive damage off in one turn with this beast of a list. You simply can’t rely on Blur to save you so you have to pay more attention to your health.
C4_Lasty’s Big Evacuate Mage
AAEBAbTqAwKhkgbjzwYO294EhJMFzJMFn6QFgMIFre0F3vgFyoMG0IMGlYcG85sG9JsGs5wGzpwGAAA=
Fire away with big spells and enjoy your treasures. This deck won’t have the same high win percentage of other decks on this page, but it’s Tavern Brawl. We can play for fun and shenanigans, too, right? Just go in with the right mindset.
phontray’s Paladin BBQ
AAEBAb7jAwJG2f4CDqMCswPSBIgFrwfyC+kP4hH63gPQvQSS1ASB4gS1ngaGowYAAA==
Start with one wild Stonetusk Boar. Season liberally with buffs like Blessing of Kings, Hand of A’dal and Blessed Champion. If you get light on cards, it’s Snack Time, or perhaps you should Lay on Hands. Once your boar is properly seasoned, turn the heat way up on your opponent and smash their face to tiny bits.
Standard/budget option: Nature Shaman
AAECAaoIApegBJTmBg7q5wOjnwT5nwTE0AXN7gXK+AXL+AWFjgbrmAbOnAacngaopwbrqQbv5gYAAA==
This is your standard Nature Shaman from the ladder. This might work for players who don’t have an extensive Wild collection.
Older Blood Magic Brawl decks
Here are some older decks to try out. Many of the decks from the previous version of the Brawl can still be used as well.
Frontlines Paladin
AAEBAZ8FBK8ExRX8/AK/gAQN+gGZArMDvQPSA9IE4hHGwgLPhgOS1ASB4gTA4gT18QQA
This comes from user Pacific_Onion on Heathpwn. The plan is to mulligan hard for Frontlines, and buff your assortment of Charge minions with your spells to end the game, preferable on turn one.
Stonetusk Paladin
AAEBAZ8FAA9G+gGzA9IEiAWnBfIL4hGdFe3SAuyGA8rBA+PrA5mfBJqfBAA=
Mulligan hard for your Stonetusk Boar, Flash of Light, and Divine Favor. Do some quick math in your head. If you can drop a Stonetusk Boar and buff him to lethal, do it and take the W. If you can’t, you can try on turn 2 if you live that long given how many other turn 1 OTK decks are out there.
No minions OTK Druid
AAEBAZICAA9A0wPBBIUGtwaaCPzNAofOAr/yAtulA+W6A4rgA6LhA9qfBLmgBAA=
Minions? We don’t need no stinkin’ minions. Load up on damage and healing and hope your APM is fast enough to close out the game before your opponent even gets their turn.
Slam Hunter
AAEBAR8C8uoC5Z8EDqgCtQPNFseuAurjAoL9AqKKA9ePA5+lA/u7A6mfBKqfBOSfBLugBAA=
Hunters’ weakness in card draw shows up in a big way in this Brawl. Mulligan hard for Nagrand Slam and your other damage spells.
Burn Mage
AAECAf0EBKAFnpsDzp0Dgb8DDa8BuwK0BO0ElgW/CLmYA5+bA/WsA8G4A4XNA83OA/fRAwA=
Throw everything you can at their face and burn them down before you die. This is one of the less expensive options. If you’re on a budget, this is the deck I’d try.
Libram Paladin
AAEBAb+PBAAP+gHSBOkP7dIC9tICsukCz4YD7IYDipoD6rkDysEDg94D+t4DzOsDmZ8EAA==
Mulligan hard for Time Out. Ensuring you live to Turn 3 is a huge advantage in this Brawl. You also want Lay on Hands and Libram of Hope. You use your spells to summon a veritable army of Taunts.
YOLO Ripper Warrior
AAEBAQcI9gKvBPwEuQ2CDqirAvKoA4igBAvx0wLq5wLF8wLYjAOWlAOAqAOXrQPbrQPzuwPS0QPu6QMA
This is something of a YOLO deck. Mulligan hard for Dimensional Ripper, Commencement, and Gather Your Party. If you don’t get them, concede. Hope that Ripper or Gather hits Y’Sharjj or one of your big taunts. Try to wait until you’ve already lost some health before you play your Armor cards.
More Blood Magic Wild lists
Hopefully, one of these decks listed here should get you the W. Keep checking Hearthstone Top Decks, because there are more Tavern Brawl decks being added by the hour. If you find another great list, share it with us in the comments.
It’s rare to see a game go past turn three. The Brawl becomes a test of who got their powerful 10 mana spell in their mulligan. These super fast games with players achieving OTK in turn one or two are not my preferred playstyle, but for those who do enjoy it, this Brawl is custom made to entertain.
