When does Diablo 4 Season 5 start? August!
Diablo 4 Season 4: Loot Reborn is still going for a while longer, and most of its additions will be sticking around into Season 5. That includes the fundamental systems changes to loot customization and Helltides, as well as the The Pit endgame challenge and the addition of Andariel to the boss ladder. But the cycle of seasons rolls onward, so we ask ourselves: when does Diablo 4 Season 4 end, and Season 5 start? We know the next season changeover is August 6, 2024. The season swaps over at 10am pacific time.
Season 4 is a week shorter than normal to balance some of the extra time spent in Season 3; an end date of August 6 takes us to a 12-week cadence within the seasons. We unfortunately aren’t getting a change in start dates yet — after the start of Season 2, Global Community Development Director Adam Fletcher responded to player feedback saying:
We noticed this isn’t ideal and plan to adjust in future seasons to later in the week. More like Thursday or Fridays.
Sadly, that shift did not happen with the onset of Season 4, and it won’t be happening in Season 5. The majority of the D4 community would be delighted with a Friday start date; it makes life a lot easier for those of us with non-gaming day jobs. But it also means we have a shift to look forward to in the future, so don’t lose hope.
We also have to start considering the coming Diablo 4 expansion, Vessel of Hatred, which launches on October 8. But we won’t have any downtime between seasons and the expansion, so Season 5 will end and Season 6 will begin on October 8 — that will make for a short Season 5.
But for now, we’re still enjoying Season 4 and while there is not an in-depth theme, there are a bunch of changes to dive into. So grab your favorite class, settle into the wild world of itemization changes, and have fun! See you in Sanctuary.
