When is the Overwatch 2 Anniversary event for 2024?

Can you believe it? Overwatch 2 is soon to be two years old. How time does fly.

I’m a creature of habit, so it still throws me to think of the anniversary event happening in the fall. But it’s true! The sequel celebrates its birthday in early October, which means the three-week celebration will likely begin the month before. I predict the event will be smack dab in Season 12: the Overwatch 2 Anniversary event will likely run from September 24 to October 15.

This Anniversary party will be a showcase of the community favorite mini-events as well as the Arcade modes that arrive annually in the special event calendar. I’d expect we’ll see the Overwatch 2 riff on prop hunt, dubbed Mischief & Magic, make a return. I’m also hoping for more Mirrorwatch; I thought that was a hoot. Battle of Olympus also seems like a popular addition to the rotation, and we might even get a chance to go way back in time and revisit the old Assault maps from the original game. Anything is possible! Like in the 2023 celebration, there will probably be different challenges and modes available for each week of the event, so plan plenty of gaming time if you want to hit all the rewards.

In Overwatch the first, Anniversary was the peak time to snatch up any cosmetics you’d missed from previous events. In Overwatch the second, this has actually been one of the least notable events in terms of brand new rewards. Maybe that will change this time around, so keep a close eye on the shop in case the Blizzard artists have cooked up some special treats.
