What did we want? SHIRTS! Where did we want them? WoW Remix: Mists of Pandaria!

World of Warcraft Remix: Mists of Pandaria has been a smorgasbord for the transmog collector. In such a short amount of time, players have already been able to fill in their collection tab with dozens of cloaks, tier sets, even the highly sought after Tusks of Mannaroth. Add all of this with transmog being free during the remix, and this event has almost been a dream for those who love to play around in transmog. Almost, but not quite as there was something missing. There were no shirts available anywhere on Pandaria.

Fortunately, Blizzard heard our cries of “We want shirts!” and both the Recruit’s Shirt and Guild Tabard have been added to Larah Treebender, the world apparel vendor at the Infinite Bazaar, for the low cost of 5 bronze. The guild tabard doesn’t have the customization that was  recently added to the live game after checking with Hanchoon Yi in the Vale of Eternal Blossoms, but this may be hotfixed in later just as the missing shirts were.

The need for a shirt started at the beginning of the month when I managed to put together the perfect outfit for this event, but upon starting the event noticed that my midriff was a little cold. As your character starts with a set of gear, there was nothing in the place of the shirt slot. Upon going to the mainland, it became quickly apparent that any vendor of clothing material that was normally in Mists of Pandaria was missing. With no professions, there were no tailors to fill in the clothing gap.

The cities of the Vale are empty of merchants who are not of the Infinite Dragonflight, and none of them had even a simple Common Gray Shirt! There was a workaround… at least for Horde: the Landfall questlines take you to Silvermoon and Darnassus, where Horde have a guild merchant who can sell a shirt, but Alliance only have access to a lowly poison vendor who has no poison to sell. The only other vendors who appeared to have clothing are the Brawler’s Guild vendors, but as the Brawler’s Guild is not currently active, you can’t get the rep to make a purchase, and rep does not carry over from other characters — leaving the Undisputed Champion’s Shirt there to taunt you.

This may seem like a small issue, but for some the perfect shirt completes the look. There are players who don’t like showing as much skin that some of the outfits offer. There are others who like to do a hide all and walk around in tuxedos. There is even at least one who is masquerading as a cartoon villian who just felt incomplete.

Now that the Recruit shirt is available, maybe they can add more rare shirts for some bronze, such as the Brawler’s Guild shirts. Perhaps add a depreciated Martin’s Fury to allow that shirt’s appearance in the game as well as reference how close to demigods we have become while making our way through the Mogu.

Now that this bit of clothing has been added, you no longer have to worry if it gets too cold on Mount Neverest, as there was no undershirt under that plate armor.
