Part of Cataclysm Classic Phase 3 launched early on September 17, and spreads out the rest of the phase on October 29 and November 7!

In a twist, part of Cataclysm Classic Phase 3 launched early, on September 17, 2024 while the rest of the phase’s launch happens over time on October 29 and November 7.  Originally, Phase 3 was scheduled to arrive in October 2024 and we haven’t seen a Classic phase release earlier than intended before, so a part of the phase being moved up is a bit surprising. It’s hard to say what effects this change will have on 2024 Classic roadmap or if it will affect any future Cataclysm Classic content rollouts but we’ll just have to wait and see.

Instead of pondering the future content to come, let’s take a look at what Phase 3 brings to Cataclysm Classic!

What’s in Cataclysm Classic Phase 3?

Available September 17, 2024:

  • Firelands Invasion questline
    • Molten Front daily quests

Available October 29, 2024:

  • Elemental Rune Dungeons: Protocol Inferno
  • High resolution graphics
  • Elemental Bonds questline

Available November 7, 2024:

Cataclysm Classic Phase 3 reflects the original patch 4.2 release and will have the Firelands raid, the Mount Hyjal zone, new questlines, and a new legendary item to collect.

On September 17, two level 85 questlines went live in Phase 3 and are available to both Alliance and Horde players. The first one is the Fireland Invasions questline which eventually unlocks the level 85 Molten Front sub-zone within Mount Hyjal and will have daily quests for players to complete and earn reputation and rewards with the Mount Hyjal factions. Players that have completed the Mount Hyjal zone can start the Firelands Invasion through the breadcrumb quest, Guardians of Hyjal: Firelands Invasion. If you haven’t completed the prerequisite quests, you’ll get the other breadcrumb quest Guardians of Hyjal: Call of the Ancients which will help you get started.

On October 29, the Rage of the Firelands content begins leading up to the Firelands raids and brings the long-awaited successor to Titan Rune Dungeons, the Elemental Rune Dungeons: Protocol Inferno. We don’t know too much about them right now but they will continue the trend of providing players a challenging new experience so they can earn more rewards.

Elemental Bonds is the other questline players can experience in Phase 3 and can be started by picking up the quest The Call of the World-Shaman in Mount Hyjal. This questline is more narrative focused, centering on making Thrall whole again after an unfortunate encounter with the Fandrel Staghelm. Phase 3 will also bring a new High Definitions Textures quality of life update that provides enhanced visuals throughout the game.

The Firelands is a level 85 raid with 7 bosses with 10 and 25 player options in both Normal and Heroic difficulties which goes live on November 7. Slaying a Molten Lord in this raid is one of the ways you can kickstart the questline that eventually rewards you with the legendary Dragonwrath, Tarecgosa’s Rest staff.

Elemental Rune Dungeons: Protocol Inferno will be available

Phase 3 has now come to Cataclysm Classic and we’ll keep you up to date on everything we learn as it progresses.
