The Queue: Today is Canada’s day!
Happy Canada to you all! Here I am all decked out in the colours red and white in honour of our day. I even spelled honour and colour the right Canadian way and not the weird American way, editorial dictates be damned! (Sorry Liz, don’t fire me!)
Whether you’re Canadian or not, let’s all raise a glass of maple syrup, enjoy a doughnut, hold the door a little too long to let someone through, have a strong opinion about hockey, and say sorry if you bump into someone today.
While you all do that, it’s time for — The Queue!
What’s the nerdiest food you’ve ever eaten?
Nerds!
I think that the nerdiest food I’ve eaten is not specifically nerdy, but nerdy in relation to the surroundings because it’s hard to top going to Medival Times and eating my roast corn and half of a chicken while there are people jousting in an arena just a few feet away from me! The same goes for a giant turkey leg at a Ren Faire!
I’m sure I’ve eaten some Star Wars-themed M&Ms before, and other various candies for movie tie-ins. Pocky is pretty high up on the list of nerdy foods thanks to all those anime types. I drank lots of Pepsi back in the 90’s to try and collect all of the Star Wars characters on them — which I did, but didn’t clean properly so they were a temporary collection, to say the least.
QftQ: What is your favorite TTRPG module you’ve never played? I’m all for Rat on a Stick , and I’ll actually GM it one day.
It’s gotta be Honey Heist!
I’ve never had the chance to play it, but everything about it speaks to me. I love bears, honey, and crime! I also love the idea of bears dressing up in disguises in order to pull off crime!!
The simple yet evocative setup of having just two stats “criminal” and “bear” makes for a quick learning curve, and it’s honestly a little upsetting that I’ve never had the chance to play it. Maybe someday if the Blizzard Watch Patreon stays high we can get one of our DM extraordinaires to run one of these for a few of us.
QftQ: Do y’all think the revamped Gilneas and the settlement under the new world tree in the Dragon Isles are just rewards for the player base or what are the chances the new locations will be central to Midnight and beyond?
I don’t think so, they’re nice to have but I don’t see the developers folding them into the mainline story in a meaningful way. Having to run through X amount of the Amirdrassil story to unlock a major hub might be a tough situation to put players in. I know that they’d likely just give you an abridged version, or let you skip to current content — but even with that Amirdrassil is a bit out of the way from major locations.
It’s more likely that if there were characters from either of those locations that become important in a big way for Midnight they’d just show up and hang out at the brand new multi-faction command center, bakery, and leisure center with all of the other power players.
Q4tQ Should the AH prevent you from listing an item for lower than its vendor price?
Nah, this is one of those seller-beware moments. The vendor price is right on the item! If you can’t take the time to realize that you probably weren’t going to miss that 17 silver anyways.
Or maybe you’re just being altruistic and know that there are lots of people out there who might need your stash of expired crafting mats, and you don’t need the money. So you just list them all for dirt cheap and watch them disappear into the ether.
When I said “I’m fine, I don’t have a hangover,” I guess I should have noticed that I simply avoided the worst part of it (the headache). But otherwise I still feel like crap and want to spend all day lying down, lol
I feel for you. I haven’t had a really bad hangover in many moons, but oh boy did they make me useless for the next day. I don’t know how people can go to work or function on really bad ones!
At least by the time you read this, you’ll have recovered, so I don’t even need to pretend to have a surefire hangover cure. Those are usually just carbs and fat anyway, so I’m sure you will have figured that out. Just don’t go trying something silly like drinking a bunch of pickle juice, or the old hair of the dog.
Hope you’re back to feeling great!
Oops, I guess my phone was sideways when I took this picture! Or Bacardi was. Or I was. Something has gone awry here and I’m sure we’ll get to the bottom of it eventually! In the meantime, you can expect some nice loot in your vaults for giving Bacardi a boop — unless the loot has gone sideways too…
