Warcraft Rumble Season 7 introduces us to the Cenarion Family this week

Warcraft Rumble is about to launch its seventh season July 10, and with it, we’ll be getting enough new minis to actually make a Cenarion army! The wild forces of nature are finally debuting in Warcraft Rumble alongside a pair of new leaders, a new zone, and a big event for the rest of the month. Just like in nature and the Cenarion minis that we’ve already seen — the new Cenarion minis work in cycles where they’ll swap between attacks, have dual abilities, or grow larger by spending more gold.

There are two new Cenarion Leaders and three new Cenarion minis that will put the fear of the forest into your foes.

New Cenarion Leader: Cenarius

Cenarius the Keeper of the Grove has an AOE heal and an AOE root ability that will see him wreaking havoc on your foes while keeping your whole army alive. He’ll be great for countering units that put out a lot of slow damage like the Pumpkin-throwing Plague Farmers, and Sneed’s giant sawblade.

  • Name: Cenarius
  • Family: Cenarion
  • Deploy Cost: 5 Gold
  • Health: 600
  • Healing: 25 health every 1.5 seconds
  • Root Duration: 3 seconds
  • Traits: Brambles, Tranquility, Elemental, Resistant, Healer
    • Brambles: Enemies are Rooted for 3 seconds when first entering an AOE around Cenarius.
    • Tranquility: Nearby allies are healed over time.
  • Talents:
    • Force of Nature: Summon a Treant when a Rooted enemy dies.
    • Revitalize: Allies entering Tranquility trigger an additional heal pulse.
    • Wild Growth: On deploy, Root all enemies on the board for 5 seconds.

New Cenarion Leader: Onu

Onu will be a game changer, no longer will you need to control territory, you can finally afford to ignore that dangerous Dragon tower to the side! Just send Onu up the middle and spawn your whole army on top of the enemy boss when he reaches it! Sure Onu will take extra damage from magical abilities and minis with his Vulnerable talent, but I’m sure that won’t be too big of an issue…

  • Name: Onu
  • Role: Leader
  • Family: Cenarion
  • Deploy Cost: 6 Gold
  • Health: 3000
  • Damage: 190
  • Traits: Safe Arbor, Tank, Vulnerable
    • Safe Arbor: Allow friendly deploys and block enemy deploys near Onu.
      • Persistent deploy zones or an enemy Onu that overlaps with Onu’s Safe Arbor will override the blocking behavior and allow the enemy to deploy Minis.
  • Talents:
    • Barkskin: Safe Arbor also grants Armor for 8 seconds.
    • Petrify: Safe Arbor persists for 8 seconds after death.
    • From the Trees!: Minis deployed within Safe Arbor deal double damage on first attack.

New Cenarion Mini: Moonkin

Everyone’s favorite World of Warcraft Druid makes its debut in Rumble. The Moonkin unit will be a versatile unit that can help turn the tide of battle no matter how many angry chickens are coming down the lane toward your tank. It’ll also be right at home in other spell-focused armies alongside Jaina or Bloodmage Thalnos with its talent that lets it super charge your next spell cast. Just don’t let it stand too close to your Fire Elementals or you’ll have a nice meal, but one less mini.

  • Name: Moonkin
  • Role: Troop
  • Family: Cenarion
  • Deploy Cost: 4 Gold
  • Health: 450
  • Moonfire Damage: 140
    • Ranged single-target attack
  • Hurricane Damage: 75
    • Ranged AOE attack.
  • Traits: AOE, Elemental
  • Talents:
    • Vengeance: Taking damage increases casting speed by 50% for 5 secs
    • Moonglow: After deploying, your next Spell gains 2 levels.
    • Typhoon: On deploy, knockback nearby enemies.

New Cenarion Unit: Ancient of War

The Ancient of War will stride across your battlefield an unstoppable juggernaut of destruction — as long as you have the gold to spare. The first unit that can cost anywhere from 1-10 gold, the Ancient of War will take all of your existing gold and deploy with more health and damage the more you spend on it. Do you need a quick response to a surprise SAFE Pilot being dropped on your base? Toss out a one or two gold Ancient of War. If you can save up though you’ll be able to field a mighty tank that will be a whole forest unto itself.

  • Name: Ancient of War
  • Role: Troop
  • Family: Cenarion
  • Deploy Cost: Consumes all current Gold
  • Health: 850 (1 Gold) – 3770 (10 Gold)
  • Damage: 60 (1 Gold) – 267 (10 Gold)
  • Traits: Surge, Tank, Armored
    • Surge: Consumes remaining Gold when deployed.
  • Talents:
    • Sapling: If played for 4 Gold or less, gain 50% increased movement speed.
    • Behemoth: If played for 6 Gold or more, gain Siege damage.
    • Lightning Rod: If played for 4 Gold or more, redirect enemy Unbound deploys to current location.

New Cenarion Unit: Bog Beast

The Bog Beast will be a cornerstone tank for your anti-magic needs. It may not be the prettiest mini out there, but all of those layers of swamp make for one tough unit. Especially if you choose the Living Wood talents allowing it to be an all-round tank against anything the enemy might throw at you — in moderation.

  • Name: Bog Beast
  • Role: Troop
  • Family: Cenarion
  • Deploy Cost: 3 Gold
  • Health: 1000
  • Damage: 165
  • Traits: Tank, Resistant
  • Talents:
    • Flourish: Heals received are 30% more effective.
    • Rampant Growth: On death, Root nearby enemies for 6 seconds.
    • Living Wood: Gain armor until 50% health.

Starting your season off with the Cenarion Festival

For the first 20 days of the season, Warcraft Rumble will be celebrating the Cenarion festival! During those three weeks, you’ll be able to earn the brand new Cenarion units, as well as play with them in all of your regular armies. The festivities will change each week, so make sure you keep coming back to experience everything the festival has to offer.

  • Week One — Meet the Cenarions: Two Cenarion Minis are added to your army daily.
  • Week Two — Cenarion Surge: Armies are replaced with Dual-Family surge Decks.
  • Week Three — Oops all Onu and March of the Treants: All leaders will have Onu’s Safe Arbor ability, and every gold mined will spawn a treant.

The new leaders will both be available through your Guilds Warchest, or by earning PVP ranking during this season, and then on the gold shop in the next season. The new Cenarion army units will be available to all players during the Cenarion Festival and again on the gold shop in Season 8.

Moonglade is finally here!

Originally thought to be arriving in Season 4, the Moonglade zone is finally arriving alongside the new Cenarion minis. These five zones will let you take the fight to Cenarius, Brightwing, and even the Aspect of Dreams herself, Ysera! The zone will be open for anyone who has earned at least 74 sigils and offers a good way to help get a few additional sigils on your way to reaching the 90 required for the co-op raids.

The new Cenarion family being added are the most new units coming out at once since the game came out, and they’re come hot on the heels of the Molten Core and Stormwind siege co-op events. It remains to be seen what kind of new fun armies we can make with them, but I can already see some amazing synergies with my existing ones and I can’t wait to see how they’ll fit in.

As for what’s next, we know that Scholomance is still on the horizon for more dungeon content. Beyond that though, the Rumble developers have been tight-lipped. Will we see Karazhan and Deadwind pass make it into the game? Will we have to contend with the infamous Blood God Hakkar, or Onyxia’s brother Nefarian deep in Blackwing Lair? I can’t wait to find out!
