The Queue: Game time
Some people have been talking about Overwatch as a fighting game, but clearly, the thing that should get new life as a fighting game is ultra popular Heroes of the Storm!
It’s even got the first two proof-of-concept screenshots right in the arcades of Overwatch. I can’t think of a better way for Blizzard to enter the modern fighting game sphere than by taking all of their best characters and making them fight each other. The best part is that by not limiting yourself to just Overwatch you can have so many more of those fun characters to play with!
While I practice more of Kael’thas’ mid-range air juggle combos, it’s time for — The Queue!
Q4tQ Is there a better feeling than to finish writing a feature article and getting to close the half dozen tabs that you had opened while writing it?
I’m fully with you there! It’s like exhaling after holding your breath for a long time. Or finally scratching that itch in the middle of your back by rubbing against a door frame.
I try and keep no tabs open most of the time, and only when I get really into the big long pieces, do I see that number expand way out. It just feels cluttered to me to have that many things open!
I’m happy that it works for some people, but I’m glad to only pop open new stuff for a minute, keep everything else as bookmarks to revisit as necessary, and then shut off immediately when I’m done with them.
I’ve heard a lot of people say that Empire Strikes Back is the best movie in the 4-6 trilogy
I liked it
but I liked A New Hope better.
Taken by themselves I would agree that A New Hope is better. It tells a mostly complete story, and even though there are some plot threads to pull in future movies, at the end of the day the good guys win and Chewbacca gets a medal.
Empire Strikes Back doesn’t have such a great ending, since it’s setting up the stakes for Return of the Jedi. So taken as part of a whole Empire is often people’s favorite because of how much character it can develop, and tease at the wider world of the Star Wars universe. Bounty Hunters! Giant spaceworms! Tiny green Jedi Masters! Evil caves! Lando! All of these are bits that expand the universe and let us wonder about what else might be out there — in a way that I feel like you don’t see as much of in Hope and Jedi.
Q4tQ: Will the Karazhan catacombs ever be re-opened for people to explore, without it being a glitch?
Unlikely, at least not the part with the room full of upside-down bodies hanging from the ceiling. That seems to be doomed to be locked behind doors that you need to glitch through — or visit Cataclysm Classic to find.
The place was creepy, and a secret, so I get why people are still so interested in it, but surely there have been many more creepy things to have come out since then to visit? Like the weird pig-headed people in Drustvar! Or the wicker men in… Drustvar. Or the creepy tea party in — alright I see what’s happened here. Drustvar can almost single-handedly carry the creepiness factor of Warcraft in a way that other zones haven’t been able to live up to in a while.
Maybe the spider-people in The War Within will bring some truly gross and weird stuff. Xal’atath is around, and you know that all the Old Gods and Void people are good for some Weird™.
QftQ: Will Cory scroll back down far enough to see Mistah J.’s question?
Turns out, yes! I usually try and scroll all the way down, but sometimes there are just so man questions up top that I don’t have to. Those sure are some great times…
Q4tQ: Are you team Xal’atath
Of course, I embrace the whispers! Have you met me?
She’s basically just doing things that N’zoth would’ve tried to do, and you know that I’m all about N’zoth. He gave me a nice hat!
I don’t have the Shadow Priest connection to her from Legion, but I still appreciate a good scheming villain, and I hope that we see much more of her over the next two or three expansions. Good villains are hard to come by, and she’s looking like she’ll be a great one.
Q4tQ: To be, or not to be?
That is the question.
Whether ’tis nobler in the mind to suffer
The slings and arrows of outrageous fortune,
Or to take arms against a sea of troubles
And by opposing end them. To die—to sleep, perchance to dream.
And wake upon the morrow and the morrow and the morrow, when we three shall meet again.
If we have but slumbered here while these visions did appear.
Then know that all the worlds a stage and we are but players upon it.
You may bring your requests to Bacardi’s attention now, maybe he’ll even deign to answer them! For the right price of course.
