A love letter to video games, Secret Level is a new show coming to Amazon Prime December 10

While the opening ceremony of Gamescom 2024 left something to be desired in terms of enthusiasm and hype, one offering stood out on the sheer level of authentic human emotion displayed by a passionate creator. Tim Miller, who is the creator of Love, Death + Robots, director of Deadpool, and co-founder of Blur Studio, was on stage, and announced a new show with tears in his eyes. Blur Studio is creating Secret Level, a show in collaboration with Amazon Studios three years in the making, bringing a variety of games to life with their incredible talent. The show will include 15 episodes spanning across new and existing titles from various publishers coming on December 10.

Secret Level aims to tell the stories of games from a number of established universes you may have already played through. A number of logos flicker across the screen at a rapid pace during the trailer so I have taken the liberty to save everyone some time by including them here:

  • Warhammer
  • Unreal Tournament
  • New World: Aeternum
  • Playstation
  • Dungeons & Dragons
  • Outer Worlds 2
  • Pac-Man
  • Honor of Kings
  • Armored Core
  • Megaman
  • Exodus
  • Spelunky
  • Crossfire
  • Concord
  • Sifu

After watching the teaser trailer, how do you feel about this list? Could there be more beloved titles we have yet to see? It is possible that some of these could be combined into shorter segments in the same episode? Are there any titles or publishers you are surprised to see, or any titles that you feel should have been up there instead? If so, what titles would you have dropped to include it? The more I think about it the more likely I think that might be as Kratos from God of War is shown briefly while the logo was missing from the list.

As someone who has been familiar with their work going back about 10 years to admire their fantastic work on Halo 2: Anniversary I am eager to see what Blur can create with these titles. I know I will be eagerly awaiting more information as the release draws closer.
