When does Diablo 3 Season 32 end?

Welcome (back) to Diablo 3 Season 32: Season of Ethereal Memory! We are fully in the maintenance cycle of D3 seasons, with the return of the Season 24 theme —Ethereal Memory, resurrecting beloved weapons from Diablo 2. And while the return of beloved themes is lovely, it’s still a seasonal theme and not a permanent change. So when do we say goodbye to these overpowered goodies? We estimate Diablo 3 Season 32 will end on Sunday, October 6, 2024.

The Diablo team set expectations for future Seasons in its Season 29 preview post. Past Diablo 3 Season lengths varied widely: Season 2’s two-month runtime felt like a blip, but Season 28 went down as the record holder for the longest run at 28 weeks and two days (0r about seven months). In maintenance mode, the D3 seasons will rotate roughly every three months while recycling past seasonal themes.

The quarterly rotation began with Season 30’s 12-week (and two-day) runtime, with five days between 30’s end and 31’s start; this pattern was repeated for Season 31. This cadence fits beautifully within their three-month estimate and gives the Diablo team a good gap to rotate seasonal themes. Unfortunately, this also slaps the next D3 season right at the launch of Diablo 4: Vessel of Hatred.

Frankly, it’s a little frustrating to hit our first seasonal overlap. Diablo 3‘s recent seasons kicked off nicely in the middle of Diablo 4‘s seasons, which gave players a refreshing break to reminisce by playing the previous title. However, there is no question that most of the Diablo community who engages with Diablo 4 will be occupied with the expansion release, leaving D3 to languish. But for now, Season 31 is in progress and should have at least four more weeks of playtime ahead of it for you to unlock the Altar of Rites fully, complete the season’s journey, and hit those leaderboards.
