Race to World First Day 9: A long day of pulls on Queen Ansurek
We now have four guilds progressing on Queen Ansurek in the Race to World First for Nerub’ar Palace: Echo, Team Liquid, Method, and Huoguo Hero. At the moment, Echo has pulled into first place, and is the only guild who’s gotten Ansurek below half health with a low pull of 48%. Liquid isn’t far behind at 55%, though.
Guilds are starting to get into into phase 3, where we’re seeing adds spawn more quickly and in greater quantities than they do on heroic. On death, these adds drop orbs that must be picked up and carried through portals — and they do significant damage when a player has them. However, in Mythic, carrying orbs through a portal doesn’t destroy them. Both the damage and healing requirements in phase 3 are very high.
Method is also making progress on the boss, but Chinese guild Huoguo Hero is hot on its heels. Huoguo only managed to get World First Silken Court after reset in China, but the team is just a half percent behind Method on Ansurek. Method’s been playing very well this tier, and has even pulled ahead of Echo occasionally, despite several members suffering from Covid. But Huoguo is fighting hard to get a win, and actually has an edge over the rest with the highest average item level of any guild on Ansurek at 627.1.
TLDR: it’s still a very tight race, and there’s a lot of health to go before any of these guilds claim the World First title.
