The Queue: Turkey and Pie day!
It’s the best food day of the year! Turkey! pie! All sorts of side dishes that work with turkey and pie! At least for Canadians. For everyone else, you’ll just have to be jealous of us and our big feasts.
I know that I’ve already had one great Thanksgiving meal after spending the weekend with my favorite person. With another feast tonight! Everything’s coming up Cory!
While I go back for seconds, it’s time for — The Queue!
QftQ: do you think it’s time to change the pool of TW dungeons again?
Oh most definitely.
In fact why even have a pool of dungeons? The whole point of Timewalking is to give us a way to re-experience old dungeons from past expansions, so why limit that to just a handful?
There are lots of dungeons I barely remember and would love to experience again. It would give me a chance to fondly remember all of the times I ran the dungeon only to not get the one drop I was looking for!
Kidding aside, I’m sure that I have lots of fun memories bouncing around in my head just waiting to get jogged when I see some of the iconic bosses and locations from expansions past.
Honest question: how good/useful are the companions in the D4 expansion? Because while I was fine with someone who just tags along and occasionally makes comments back in D3, I loathe the idea of being expected to drag someone around and gain reputation with them just to get another in-game benefit. >_< That is not why I play this game.
The ones I’ve gotten so far all seem to be pretty good at supporting you in solo play with their various tricks. I really like the massacre counter from the Barbarian Cannibal Grandma, not only is it fun to see how high I can get the number, but the extra movement speed makes me feel like a race car!
I’ve also not really noticed them as chattery characters like the D3 mercs were. I don’t think I’ve heard my shield buddy call any monster “glorious” like the Templar did.
I’ve never looked at them as an imposition though, anything that helps my character kill demons faster is a plus in my book. Especially since I don’t have to do anything out of the ordinary to make them stronger, I earn the reputation just by killing fancy demons and doing activities I was going to do anyway.
But if they’re really not something you want to see while you’re playing, you don’t have to bring them with you, or have them pop out. You can just deselect them by talking to them in the Den.
D4 Q4tQ: is Spiritborn underpowered or am I just bad at it? I tried building with what just sounded good, ended up mostly gorilla with some eagle, and it was like I had to hit every single thing two or three dozen times before it died. Even basic enemies were just soaking up everything I hit them with. It was very frustrating, so I swapped to all-centipede all the time, and I killed a few things but stopped soon after that; they seemed to die more quickly but I need to do more testing. Anyone else had similar results?
I’ve been going with mostly Centipede powers with the Jaguar swipe as my main vigor spender and having a pretty great time. I don’t feel overpowered, but I also don’t feel underpowered. I was right when I speculated in a previous Queue that summoning a giant centipede spirit to bathe my enemies in toxic sludge would feel amazing. Especially when it just executes things that have their health bars fully poisoned.
It’s always hard to gauge relative levels of power when the difficulty curve gets tweaked with the new expansion. I’ve been playing on hard and haven’t died yet, so I’m putting that firmly in the win column.
Diablo leveling and end game are also two very different beasts. I’ve seen some clips of an absurd build where you go in on Eagle powers and every time you dodge you kick out feathers and giant lightning blasts, and somehow also reset your dodge. So all you do is dodge roll your way around in circles as you blast everything in the area with raw electric power.
There’s a Tomb Raider anime?
With Hayley Atwell voicing Lara Croft?
Why was I not informed!
Hey Jalamenos, did you know that there is an animated Tomb Raider coming to Netflix soon? The best part is that it stars Hayley Atwell as Lara Croft!!
Did you not get my carrier pigeons? They must’ve gotten lost on the way, hopefully, they haven’t been eaten by a jaguar.
Bacardi is all charged up from playing Vessel of Hatred and ready to give out some fantastic loot! It might even be the piece you’re looking for to make your build really sing — or complete your tier set. He’s an equal-opportunity loot gifter.
Today’s Anna Earworm: Skeleton Sam
I hope you all will have a piece of pie in Canada’s honor today, or at the very least be thankful for something in your life. Anna is back from vacation tomorrow so make sure to leave her lots of questions!
