The Queue: Winter is coming… eventually

Have you heard that winter is coming? We’re pretty sure it’s true. It always seems to.

We’ve had some snow a couple of times now, but nothing has really stuck around. Still, the next one could be it, and if not the next one, the one after…

While I make sure that my stores of hot chocolate are adequate, it’s time for — The Queue!

KALCHEUS YOU’VE BEEN ON MY MIND GUY SINCE THE FLOOD

Q4tQ How goes your holiday shopping?

I have three people crossed off my list so far!

Others are more the general shape of ideas on what to get them and I will be getting them stuff later. I hope…

How hard can it be to pick out bespoke gifts that speak to their wants and needs?

THOMAS STRANGE HEAVEN HELP A FOOL WHO FALLS IN LOVE

Q4tQ: In December, I’m going to be house-sitting for a friend. No WoW, but I’ll have the TV to myself for a day. Any recommendations? I’m wavering between bingeing a full season (Last of Us is my first choice, but I’ve heard good things about Fallout, too), OR grabbing some old classics that I’ve never seen (China Town, and Once Upon a Time in the West come to mind).
Help me, the Queue (and Cory)! You’re my only source of recommendos!

I’ve heard great things about The Last of Us and have watched great things in Fallout so with either one I think you’re in good hands. I’ve had the privilege to walk next to one of the downtown Edmonton streets where they filmed The Last of Us so I can confirm that at least the post-apocalypse sets looked appropriately weird.

Keeping it in the recent arena, the second season of Arcane will be fully out in a week so I expect that you could make a good day of watching that. To borrow a joke I’ve seen online — Arcane is such a great show, it’s just a shame that there will never be a video game made from it.

You could always spend the day watching seasonal things, when was the last time you watched National Lampoon’s Christmas Vacation, Die Hard, or Home Alone? A nice cup of eggnog or hot chocolate and you’ll be feeling so full of Christmas cheer.

ARTHONOS YOU GOT BIG PLANS AND YOU GOTTA MOVE

Q4tQ: Do you prefer allied races be added at the start of an expansion, or at the end?

I’d prefer it if they were added before! Throw them into the pre-patch and let people get their hands on them early. That way you can have your fun leveling them before the expansion proper and decide if you want to make your main one of them.

If you really want something fun to unlock later in the expansion for the allied race, lock their faction mounts or some cool faction appearances behind the main quest line. That way there’s still something to look forward to, while still enjoying the main feature.

MUSEDMOOSE AND YOU CAN’T FEEL NOTHING SMALL

Hello, Queue. I have watched the middle three episodes of Arcane season two and I am once again emotionally exhausted.

Good night.

No spoilers here, but they were pretty heavy, weren’t they?

How are they gonna wrap things up in just three more?! Dang those jerks in charge only giving them two seasons! I don’t know whose decision that was, but we better keep seeing more from this studio because it is such a lush and vibrant animation.

KALCHEUS YOU’VE BEEN ON MY MIND GUY LIKE A DRUG

I have no idea what I’m going to do for Legion Remix. I don’t need any more characters, and I’m not missing any Heritage Armor.

It would be cool to get a Cathedral Mail recolor, I like that set.

Is it time to treat it like an alternate-universe version of one of your existing characters? You don’t need to play them after the remix is done, just let them hang out on your character select screen being the flipped upside-down version of your main Dwarf. Like an Orc or Troll, whatever the exact opposite of a Dwarf would be.

I know that whoever I decide to take through the Remix will be someone who can use both Swords and Polearms just in case there are new versions of Taeshalach and the Scythe of the Unmaker.

Bacardi has been expecting you. He’d like to talk to you about the lack of treats that he’s been getting in exchange for all of the extra loot he’s so graciously offered up to you all. I’m sure he’ll forget all about this after a good nap though. But just to be safe he likes the lickable spoons.
