The Queue: This pic of Tess Greymane goes hard
No time to explain. Get in the carriage. Clock’s ticking!
How long do you think Dragonflight will remain the default, starting expansion?
Until the Worldsoul Saga is over, and perhaps even after that! There are a few reasons why I think so.
First, the start of Dragonflight follows up the Exile’s Reach experience very well; you even meet a lot of the same NPCs from the island in those first few Waking Shores quests. Exile’s Reach was designed to be a timeless piece of introductory content, and it does a fantastic job at it. As long as Exile’s Reach is kept as the de-facto starter zone in the game, I feel like having Dragonflight follow it works well.
Second, the stories in the three Worldsoul Saga expansions are supposed to happen one after another. It would be strange to ask players to go to Khaz Algar, finish their leveling experience, and be left hanging. Their story would continue in Midnight, but once The Last Titan rolls out, there’s no reason to send players into Midnight content, and that’s a problem that will only get worse as more expansions are released. (And it would make even less sense to send new players straight to Midnight or The Last Titan content, since they’d be skipping the beginning of those stories.)
Third, Dragonflight content is more “relaxed” in tone and nature. It works very well for a player to quest through content like that instead of getting a constant barrage of “the world is ending” threats, one after another, only to find the latest world-ending threat of the week once they reach max level.
Perhaps they’ll eventually have a new expansion that is self-contained, and once they release that one, they’ll make a new starting zone to replace Exile’s Reach and that follows seamlessly into that expansion content. But until that happens, I feel like Dragonflight is here to stay as the default leveling experience.
Are you enjoying the direction the lore seems to be going re: the titans and recontextualising everything we know, or would you prefer it have been kept to Titans Good Legion Bad
I like it a lot. I haven’t done the Archives quests yet, so I’m not fully caught up on everything — though I did read some spoilery discussions here and there — but we had already seen some sort of ideological split since Dragonflight content, at least (regarding Eonar vs. Aman’Thul, in particular), and I think it’s great for that kind of rift to be expanded upon even further.
There are exceptions here and there, of course, but in general, a nuanced story containing characters with complex and conflicting motivations is almost always superior to a simple “good guys vs. bad guys” one.
What decorations, furniture, or whatever else do you want most in you future WoW home?
Mostly, I just want to be able to customize the layout. Make rooms in any size or shape I want, and decorate each room with a different theme. I’d like to be able to have my pets walk around the house, and a stable area with some of my mounts. I’d also like some trophies related to my achievements, of course.
You know what would be super neat? If there was a visitor’s area in my house where I’d get NPC visitors related to my progress in the game! If I’m exalted with a certain faction, a representative of that faction could be there to discuss important matters. If I’ve finished some memorable quest chain, some NPC involved in that chain could show up as well to thank me and bring me some cake. Things like that.
Do you think we will ever be able to mog daggers to swords within wow’s lifetime
I think there’s a chance this will happen, since the developers have been relaxing transmog restrictions more and more. The only caveat is that there are two specs in the game that use daggers exclusively, and have abilities themed around daggers (Mutilate, Backstab, etc.), so perhaps the developers will want to preserve them as “dagger-only” because of aesthetics, combat animations, etc. But I do think there’s a distinct possibility this could happen one day.
In any case, there are already some very sword-looking dagger appearances in the game, such as the Shipwrecker Knife which you can get in the Kul Tiras zones, or the Igneous Onyx Impaler, which is part of the Rogue Arsenal you could get in ReMists. Good luck!
Where’s my frickin Cairne plushie?
Thrall?!?!?! He’s considered huggable????
The Old Gods work in mysterious ways.
(I’m not saying Thrall is secretly an avatar of the Old Gods, but– DUN DUN DUN!)
Bacardi brought me middling-good luck.
BACARDIIIIIIIIII!!!!!
*shakes fist at a nearby bottle of rum*
Q4tQ: If a food company approached you to promote their product, and part of the deal was a years supply, what food would be the best case scenario?
JAINA PIZZAS
Q4tQ Which video game world would you choose to be isekai’d into? You’d be yourself and not the main protagonist, but would be one of the main companions and thus be similar in power/ability to them.
I was tempted to answer with Persona, since it’s just our world with an extra layer of supernatural powers that 99% of people in the world are oblivious to, so I could probably just lead a normal life without putting myself in much risk.
However, that wouldn’t be in the best spirit of isekai. Gotta be a more radically different world!
So I’d go with the Pokemon series. I think it’s a mostly peaceful world (apocalyptical Pokegods that pop up every once in a while and incompetent organizations notwithstanding), and it would certainly be a lot of fun to become a Pokemon trainer.
I’d live in the Galar region, cause the gym vibes are unmatched!
Have a good one, Queue! Ask lots of questions, be good to each other, and take care!
