The Queue: In which I am not forgetting to write the Queue

Because I would never do that. Truly. I would not leave you all to your own devices on a Friday afternoon (it would be dangerous, for one). We need excitement! We need adventure! We need questions!

So let’s get to it.

KALCHEUS SAID:

I played around with the Veilguard character creator last night. I don’t understand why anyone wouldn’t want to play a Dwarf.

The problem with the character creator is that it makes too many beautiful people. Beautiful dwarves, beautiful elves, beautiful humans, beautiful qunari. (Though, okay, sometimes their horns can be oddly placed.) Everyone looks great! So how are you to decide? Dwarves look great, with many beard and tattoo options (if that’s your thing). And there are just so many hair options, and they look great on everyone in different ways.

Why wouldn’t everyone want to play a beautiful dwarf? Because everyone equally wants to play a beautiful everything.

MUSEDMOOSE ASKED:

Q4tQ: what game do you want to see learn from BioWare and release their character generator as a separate app?

I’m going to go with the obvious one and say Baldur’s Gate III, because while I’m waiting for the next patch to play again, sometimes I do just want to create a new Tav or two or six for the fun of it.

Easy. All of them.

Character creators can be so much fun at least the ones with a bit of depth, where you aren’t just filling in your name. It can be fun just to spend hours messing around in them, tweaking them, trying to get the perfect look. A look that matches what’s in your head, or mimics someone else. You can spend hours tweaking and perfecting. It’s fun on its own.

But it also makes you want to play the rest of the game. With your creation. This seems like a very easy win for game companies, while also being fun for us.

RETPALLYJIL ASKED:

Q4tQ:

Which shape of Danish butter cookies are best?

Because I’m taking the loopy Os

The sugar covered pretzels are the best, so it works out and we can share a tin of cookies.

ARTHONOS ASKED:

How’s your musical year in review?

The fact that I listen to the Mass Effect 2 soundtrack on repeat on raid nights really skews my stats. I have a tendency to listen to things on repeat endlessly when I like them, so the end of year results are always pretty limited.

ABOMINABLE ROXXI ASKED:

How’s post AotC life treating you?

I mean, it’s only been a day. But so far, I think, so good. Slightly over a hundred pulls to kill Queen Ansurek, so I’m glad to move on to less consuming things. (Achievement runs come next.)

But I suppose also I will sort of miss it. For all that endless tries at the same boss become tiring, I enjoy it, too, practicing a fight until I know exactly what to cast when, the best ways to position and spells to cast at each moment. And it usually takes me a lot of repetition to get there, so it will be a while before we tackle anything else at that difficulty.

But for now, I’m glad to have a break to do other things.

And that will be all for today my friends. Have a pleasant Friday and I’ll see you in the comments.
