Extended Tuesday maintenance has ended for WoW, with The War Within, Cataclysm Classic, Classic Era, and Anniversary realms all back online
It’s that time again: Tuesday, when the WoW servers do their weekly reset and drop offline for a morning of maintenance. Today’s maintenance isn’t too bad, but is a little longer than usual with The War Within and Cataclysm Classic both down for two hours, and WoW Classic down for four hours: all WoW realms are back online.
Here’s what to expect from this week’s downtime:
- The War Within offline from 7am – 9am pacific
- Cataclysm Classic offline from 7am – 9am pacific
- WoW Classic offline from 7am – 11am pacific
After a rocky launch (in terms of extended maintenance), The War Within’s weekly maintenance has slowed down lately, often fitting neatly into the standard one hour window. This is the first Tuesday in a while that’s had extended maintenance — though we should expect another extended maintenance next week, when patch 11.0.7 drops. Today, the War Within realms came online right on time with no extra maintenance.
WoW Classic’s extended maintenance is a bit out of the blue, though it may have something to do with the launch of the popular Anniversary realms. Phase 1 kicks off on these new realms this Thursday, and it’s possible that a little extra maintenance is required to keep the servers running smoothly if Blizzard expects a rush of people hitting the servers this week. All Classic realms are now back online as scheduled.
But even though these maintenances are a little longer than usual, servers came up on time without problems. Hopefully your weekly vault was a good one, and I wish everyone a good week of gaming in Azeroth (until our next maintenance).
