The Queue: What’s up with all these pirates?

Seriously, it’s like everywhere I look… Pirate!

Is there a convention in town? Are the Muppets hanging around? Should I guard my booty?

While I try to get to the bottom of this, it’s time for — The Queue!

It’s pretty rare for me to go back through a game I’ve played already. There’s gotta be a whole second style of play/story involved, like doing a Paragon run after my Renegade run. Even then odds are good that I’ll get bogged down in one of the early zones and then next thing you know I’ll get bored. It’s really hard for me to get past the opening when you’re not an unstoppable juggernaut of destruction. Too many time I’ve gotten exploded and if I could only have just had power X or gun Y I would’ve been fine!

So generally I’ll just remember things fondly, or check the wiki to see how things might’ve gone differently.

We should tar and feather the lot of them, really make them think about what they’ve done. The nerve! I know I won’t be cheering for them next year.

First, you’re going to have to solve the Puzzle Box of Yogg-Saron, as an Orc. They’ll add more spikes to anything!

Second, admire your new more spiky armor!

In what is probably the best change between Plunderseasons, the Plunder you earn in matches lines up exactly with the cost of things in the store. No waiting to the very end to unlock the Polly Roger anymore, you want that parrot — just go and get to lootin’!

Being a pirate feels like it’s more of a state of mind than any specific location. Although, sometimes pirates on land will be called land pirates, and it’s very unlikely to hear one referred to as a sea pirate.

All I know is that river pirates also exist, and they’ll steal all of your hay.

I’m sure we will, but you’re right it’s been a hot minute. I think they’re likely things that are harder to just sprinkle in because they need a suitably epic reward now. No collector would be happy with the collect 1000 mounts achievement just being a standard reskin. That means you need a whole team of artists and animators to get something awesome out to players.

So hold on tight, and hold out hope. I’d bet 5 BlizzardWatch Bux™ that we see a new milestone achievement by Midnight.

Well this very weekend, I managed to finally hit the jackpot on an arcade game at one of those arcades you get tickets for. It’s the Kung Fu Panda punch targets as quickly as you can game, and so many times I’d gotten to the last stage — only to miss out on the big prize by two targets or something equally as close. Sunday night though, I was firing on all the right cylinders as I managed to get the 30 targets within 20 seconds, while not hitting any wrong targets… all with a whopping 0.6 seconds left on the clock.

My prize? 500 sweet sweet tickets closer to something big and shiny. I am curious to see if the next time I try the game out I can hit the jackpot again. It doesn’t seem like it’s got too much behind-the-scenes fiddling happening, but maybe enough people had failed that the game was more generous with the targets in the last round.

Here’s Bacardi doing what he does best, look stern and majestically off into the middle distance. I’m sure that if you give him a boop he’ll do what he does, well not second best, but pretty well — and get you better loot in your vaults!
