Time for a little Tuesday maintenance, as a treat — the WoW servers are back online!

It’s time for our traditional celebration of Tuesday: with some WoW maintenance! We’re a little unsure as to how long maintenance will last today, because Blizzard has different times posted on its support page and on the Battle.net launcher, but neither shows a terribly long downtime. WoW servers are going offline at 7am pacific and will be back online at either 8am or 9am pacific, including modern, Classic, Cataclysm, Season of Discovery, Hardcore, and Anniversary realms. The WoW servers are now back online and everything appears to be stable for a snow day full of gaming.
The mixed messages on maintenance is a little unusual, and I can’t decide which one to trust. The Battle.net launcher was updated more recently than the maintenance page, but Blizzard’s support team also shared the maintenance page on social Monday afternoon, which suggests it’s current and accurate. Perhaps it’s just a case of mixed messages between teams. Any bets on when the servers will actually be back online? Personally, I’m going to split the difference and bet on 8:30am, which turned out to be about right.
While we wait for the servers to come back up, you could always join us in watching livestreams of baby pygmy hippos, our true passion in life (video games are just something we do on the side). Or, if you want something more interactive, we had a few video game recommendations last week that will still serve you well, and Escape Academy is currently free on the Epic Game Store. Pick any game out of that list and you’ll find a pleasant distraction from the Tuesday doldrums.
But servers are now back online, so you can trundle off to Azeroth, check what’s in your vaults and get started on this week’s Timewalking event. Have a good day, everybody.
