No, Blizzard will not repossess your player housing if you stop playing

Home is where the hearth is, and your player house will not be something that goes away simply because your World of Warcraft subscription has lapsed. While the official first look did not state whether this means your home will remain in your private neighborhood that was set up among you, your friends, and your guild, your home is at least protected from repossession from the city guard. This should alleviate any fear of returning to the game after a prolonged break and having the daunting experience of restoring your cozy cottagecore spike-encrusted hut. As Martha Stewart would say, ” The skulls of your vanquished foes pair nicely with spider silk doilies on teak side tables. It’s a good thing.”
It is also not clear if your home remains in a private neighborhood as a permanent fixture for your neighbors, or disappears when you log out — similar to the player housing in Fallout 76. While it would be understandable to just fade away if you are not playing in the more public neighborhoods, it would be nice to be able to crash on the Onyxia scale couch of a friend who has a nicer home than you from time to time, even when they’re not around. As this was only the first look on the topic, we can expect more details on the persistence of your player house in the coming months leading up to Midnight.
Knowing that your home is secure from server deletion means you should be able to decorate your home to your hearts content. Should you find real life has gotten in the way and you need to step away from World of Warcraft for a bit, your lovingly decorated home will still be waiting for you when you get back, just as you left it. Just keep a wary eye out for your guild’s pesky HOA enforcer.
