The Queue: Spring is almost here!

We’re getting so close to spring y’all! By this time next week, we might even have temperatures above freezing again! It’s been a long cold start to February for us here in Canada, but we’re almost through it — and I, for one, cannot wait.

While I go scrape the ice off of my car yet again, it’s time for — The Queue!

Well, it’s not a man unless it’s been plucked… Which would also make it a miserable pile of secrets.

Those don’t seem right though.

What isn’t a bird? Besides the aforementioned secrets that is. Birds are sometimes wrongly accused of murder, and sometimes rightly. Birds are wise in the ways of Tootsie Pops. Birds can be trusted but not the owls, except in matters of Tootsie Pops. Birds are a good reason to get out of bed early. However, owls are once again bucking the trend because they’re a good reason to stay out in the night.

Are we sure that owls are birds? I know they’re superb and all that, but they might be their own thing with how much they don’t seem to fit with the rest of the bird sayings I know.

I’m sure we will, but the toilets will all be super overcomplicated Gnomish and Goblin-based designs. I’m talking enough copper piping to reach the moon and at least three strangely humming power supplies that probably shouldn’t be that near to your business. That’s before we even talk about all of the random spinning gizmos and whatsits.

It may be safer to just use the outhouses.

I didn’t see any birds, but I did see not one but two rabbits!

Those are like birds right? Although at this point I think we’ve established that I don’t really know what non-owl birds are about.

Also, it might’ve been the same rabbit twice.

The last few dreams I had were all work-stress-related. At least that I can remember, sometimes I can hold onto a dream for a day, or a single re-telling to my favorite lady, and then poof it’s gone.

The last work one was trying to run AV for a big conference, but all of our gear was way out of date and super weird. Which as the guy in charge of making things go smoothly on the tech end of things was very stressful. The weirdest piece of gear was a laptop that had a Discman-style CD drive on the inside of it next to the trackpad. Which feels like the kind of gear that might fall through a portal from an alternate universe. Just plausible enough to have been a design choice, but super silly because what happens if you break the top off by moving your hand weirdly!

I don’t remember how it ended, but all of the events since then have been smooth so clearly my subconscious was freaking out for no reason.

Oh no! I completely forgot to buy cheap chocolates on the 15th! I also forgot to buy them on the 16th, but maybe there’ll still be some to buy on the 17th.

I was very well desserted this weekend so I wasn’t feeling the chocolate hunger, but also I hope that there are still some heart-shaped Reese’s out there. I assume that they exist since every other holiday gets a shape now.

Oh most definitely. We’re going to get Winter’s Veil trees and Hallow’s End pumpkins and Lunar Festival Elder ghosts hanging out all together and it’s going to look like a Spirit Halloween ate all of the other holidays and just became a year-round holiday store in some people’s houses.

I still have Winter Veil decorations up in my garrison and that’s super easy to turn on and off. It’s going to be interesting how involved it’ll be to decorate for a holiday and then redecorate once the mood strikes. I also expect to see record numbers of players out in the world engaging with holiday events to farm enough currency to purchase all of the new housing bits to show their holiday pride.

I don’t know how much I need the Hallow’s End vibes though, since I assume I’ll be able to go full Undead/Maldraxxi/Old God on my own — which is all I really want.

I’m going to be the house with the big bone spire out back!

Nothing fancy here this week. Here’s just an excellent picture of Bacardi I took that I feel will make everyone’s lives a teensy bit better for having seen it. Maybe it’s worth some extra luck, maybe it isn’t! All I know is that he’s majestic and fuzzy.
