Liberation of Undermine Race to World First, day 4: The World Firsts start rolling in!

Action in the Race to World First for Liberation of Undermine is heating up after another long slow day dominated by splits. Several guilds are pushing through the early bosses with a couple of new World First kills, and Team Liquid finally jumped into Mythic at around midnight eastern time (9pm pacific time, where Liquid is located).
World First Cauldron of Carnage to Bound!
Bound (Zul’jin NA) got the first kill on Cauldron of Carnage today — here’s a clip of the tail end of the kill, when the raid took out Flarendo and rushed to take out Torq. We’re starting to see some progress on the race as several guilds followed with their own kills: Consequence (Stormrage NA), xD (Area 52 NA), and then Instant Dollars (Mal’ganis NA).
World First Rik Reverb to Instant Dollars!
Instant Dollars hit the ground rolling, one-shotting both Vexie and Cauldron before going on to get world first on Rik Reverb, which took a pretty quick 25 pulls. Here’s their Rik kill! After Rik, the guild tried Stix Bunkjunker before eventually moving on to try Sproketmonger Lockenstock, making progress on both but not closing in on a kill.
If you’re confused about the boss order here, after killing Vexie guilds have a choice of four bosses to try next: Rik Reverb, Cauldron of Carnage, Sproketmonger Lockenstock, or Stix Bunkjunker. Most guilds seem to be heading to Cauldron of Carnage, but after that there’s no consensus. Instant Dollars has proven Rik is killable.
Liquid enters Mythic (but leaves again)
Late in their raid day, Liquid finally wrapped up splits, Mythic+ runs, and other chores and went into Mythic Liberation of Undermine. The guild proceeded to one-shot Vexie and Cauldron before getting slowed down by Rik Reverb where unlucky positioning RNG — but it just took practice and six pulls to kill Rik for the world second kill.
However, after that kill the team decided to call it a night and start fresh in the morning. With European guilds getting up for their day of raiding soon, we’re likely to see top competitors Echo and Method jump in as well (though, like Liquid, it may not happen until the end of their raid days).
But the race is now really moving. We’ll see what another day of raiding brings!
