The Queue: No context given

Sometimes you just need to look at a picture of three murloc gangsters escaping from a bad situation on a motorcycle.

I have no more context for you. Hearthstone has always been the best for taking all of the best parts of Warcraft’s sandbox and making it into something special and more than the sum of its parts. Which could be ascribing too much to someone’s job that day to paint a trio of Murloc smugglers running away from a bad scene. Who knows! All I know is that I like it.

While I wonder what my life would be like as a smuggler, it’s time for — The Queue!

RED TAKE MY HAND, COME UNDERCOVER THEY CAN’T HURT YOU NOW

Q4TQ: in turn-based games, which of the two usual styles do you prefer?

1) each character has their own turn and there’s a turn order you have to strategize around (i.e., it’s my healer’s turn, next turn is the enemy archer so I have to heal now or they’ll kill my other character who’s at low health, etc.)

2) there’s a player phase (and you pick the actions for all your characters) then an enemy phase, repeat.

I like the first option better. Seeing how my actions can impact the turn order lets me better plan things out. I especially like real-time updates to spells like Haste or Slow. I’m not the best at using status effects normally, why would I use a turn for a status effect when I can just blast them with a Fireball? When I get to see that casting Haste jumps my guy who just went back to the beginning of the line, or Slow takes that big enemy damage dealer out of the mix — really can sell them as useful abilities. You know, beyond just the game telling me they’re good.

I’m a very visual person, I can’t be expected to just believe the description of the spell, can I? Sure, sometimes the character idle animation cycle speeds up like they’re a squirrel who just found a 4 Loko, but that could just be cosmetic!

ARTHONOS COME ON NOW, TRY AND UNDERSTAND

Oh interesting, people turned the Pokemon Mystery dungeon universe into a D&D campaign. On that note…

Q4tQ: Which Pokemon would you be in a D&D campaign? Assume they have all their fully leveled abilities to fight with and solve puzzles. Hard mode: no picking a Legendary.

I’d be a Gengar, I like the spooky ghost aesthetic. Plus how many puzzles can be solved by just passing through the wall? Probably most of them! They’d also make for a great Rogue I bet. Again being able to appear behind someone because you can just phase through objects is a little cheat-y — but I bet they won’t complain for much longer…

RED TAKE MY HAND AS THE SUN DESCENDS

Q4tQ: can you believe these absolute clownsters? Unreal. Look at these bozos! You seeing this nonsense?

I know right? Using a Vantus rune on the fourth boss of a raid? Who does that! That the fourth boss even took more than a hundred pulls hasn’t happened in… ever. Blizzard must really want to make sure that these World First raiders get their moneys worth out of the raid. They must’ve taken Max saying that he didn’t see a standout boss in the raid personally. Sure Echo got it with 21 less pulls, but both of the top two guilds taking that many for the halfway boss hopefully means that the rest of the raid won’t be a cakewalk through a Goblin tea park.

I’ve even heard a rumour that Gallywix has a secret phase… Hopefully he really does because those always make for a great moment of shock on the faces of raiders.

WITH DOUBT THE VICIOUS ROXXII THE BELOVED TURNS AND BURNS

Q4TQ: Am I a bad person for stealing a random player’s transmog?

You wouldn’t download a transmog!

Oh, you would? Well that’s probably fine. It’s not like you’ve taken it and now they can’t use it at all…

What are the odds you even see that other player again? Even if they’re on your server you’d have to both be running laps or driving in circles in exactly the right place at the right time. Sure I’ve run into people I know in the same mall multiple times, but that’s real life and video games are totally different.

Bacardi has been making sure to get lots of rest so that he can give you the best gear possible tomorrow. This will be the first Great Vault of your new season, and that needs to be as extra special as possible. I’m talking Best in Slots quality loot!

Today’s Anna Red Earworm™: Because the Night

Have a great week everyone, I hope you all didn’t just get a second blast of winter like I did! Anna won’t be here tomorrow but Red will be! So make sure to ask them about things only he’d know about.
