How to get the Spare Uncrowned Vest after completing the Liberation of Undermine raid

After you’ve successfully completed the Liberation of Undermine raid in any difficulty (including Story Mode) a series of epilogue quests become available dealing with the aftermath of your victory. One such quest chain has you accompany Gazlowe and another notable NPC to Westfall where you help pay tribute to a victim of the patch 11.1 campaign. While there you may notice a lockbox on the ground, and that lockbox holds a special cosmetic piece of leather armor — the Spare Uncrowned Vest. There’s only one catch: only a Rogue has the skill necessary to access the lockbox.

If you’re completing the quest chain on a Rogue, good job! You’ve saved yourself a trip later and also received a nice piece of transmog. If you didn’t, well, read on…

The Spare Uncrowned Vest is sleeveless as the name suggests ,and replaces the chest piece in the updated 20th Anniversary version of the Bloodfang Armor. In this way it’s actually similar to the Vest of Artful Dodging added in Legion that provided a similar arms-visible approach to the Rogue tier 2 gear. As the quality of the main set has improved with the Eternal Bloodfang version of the armor a new vest option was needed and this is how Rogues (and only Rogues — no other class can use it for transmog) can now obtain one.

Unlocking the Spare Uncrowned Vest if you didn’t complete the epilogue on a Rogue

Fortunately the quest chain that spawns the lockbox in Westfall is Warband-wide so you don’t have to do the raid and epilogue on a Rogue to get the armor. You don’t even need to be level 80 — however you should be at least 70 as even though Rogues of lower levels can open the lockbox they’re not able to learn the transmog before level 70. Of course if you’re leveling a Rogue and don’t mind it sitting in your bags until you reach 70 there’s nothing wrong with heading out to Westfall earlier.

The location of lockbox is on the island in the southwestern part of Westfall where the lighthouse is operating and can be found adjacent to the lighthouse itself on the eastern side. Getting there is relatively straightforward: if you’re sending an Alliance Rogue, just fly southwest from Stormwind. Horde rogues will need to take a longer route by heading to the Grom’gol Base Camp in Northern Stranglehorn via Zeppelin from Orgrimmar. Once at Grom’gol fly northwest to reach the island and the lockbox.

Oddly enough even though level 10+ characters can transmog to the Eternal Bloodfang armor, Rogues aren’t able to use the Spare Uncrowned Vest appearance until they’ve reach level 70. It would not surprise us if this was changed in the future though.
