The Queue: A little luck

Hey! It’s St. Patrick’s Day today, so I hope you’re using a green transmog. Luckily as a Druid I have no shortage of green things to wear. Not that anyone would dare to pinch a bear for not wearing green.

I guess I’m immune!

While I go put on every color other than green, it’s time for — The Queue!

LADY JADE THREW A BIG PARTY FOR FRIENDS AND RELATIONS AT A GRAND OLD PLACE CALLED FLORIAN HALL

How many hops does it take a bunny to get from Mexico to Italy?

Well, a lot.

The distance between Mexico and Italy is 10,141 kilometers. With a big blue wet thing in between the two places. So assuming that this is a very special rabbit who can hop on water, or we’ve got one of those magical bridges that someone wished a genie for linking the two continents, it’s going to be hopping for a long time since the average rabbit jump is 2-4 feet or about a third of a meter. That’s like 30,423,000 hops in a straight line!

If that rabbit hopped nonstop at a rate of one hop every 3 seconds, it’d take 1,521,150 minutes, or about a thousand days. So that poor little rabbit would be jumping for three years to make the journey. All for some authentic Italian food!

Of course, all of this doesn’t take into account whether the bunny made a wrong turn in Albuquerque, which is already pretty far out of its route, adding years onto its journey.

FREE BEER ON TAP AND WINE FOR THE SPEEDLANCER

Queue: So the Race to World First Liberation of Undermine is *officially* over with Team Liquid finishing first, but when would it be *unofficially* over? By that I’m referring to other racing guilds finishing for other positions, and tangentially, when Blizzard would re-enable BoEs dropping.

Yay Liquid!

The unofficial observers race is usually considered wrapped up when the top three spots are filled. Echo took the silver medal spot with 49 pulls about six hours after Liquid got gold. Method is poised to take bronze unless there’s a massive push from one of the other guilds. So I wouldn’t expect it to be much further out.

For Blizzard though and the BoEs, they might be looking more at the top ten being filled out — or Liquid getting it might be enough too! They are really hands off usually, so once there’s a winner that might be all they need to adjust things.

MITCH SANG OUT IN HIS FINEST FORM, THE PATRONS RESPONDED AND I LEAD ‘EM ALL

How would you celebrate St. Patrick’s Day in WoW?

(Remember when WoW Insider used to share blogs and had blog topics? One was about adding holidays and I had a whole thing about retaking Gnomer and fighting Leper Gnomes.)
Also I’m assuming I haven’t just plain missed a new (micro) holiday or something lol

Hi Mitch!

I’m surprised that there isn’t a St. Patrick’s day analogue yet with how close Dwarves are to being Irish. I think it could be a quick little thing where Dwarves lead people in a raucous celebration to rid an island somewhere of snakes. Only to awaken a snake Loa and anger the Trolls nearby. So you have Alliance Dwarves chasing snakes, and Horde Trolls trying to protect them. While everyone else just has a big party! This is the epitome of a micro-holiday. Some green snake pets to get for pet collectors, maybe a buff from drinking green beer, all on a small island that may or may not have had to exist prior to this. Maybe it even comes out from the mists like Brigadoon.

Your idea was a little more fleshed out, and had way more achievements!

THE REDS WERE HAMMERED, THE GIRLS WERE HEARTY

I wanna do 5 TWs on a character other than my main, but I have major decision paralysis as to who to pick.

You should do them on a Mage! Throw a bunch of fire around and watch your enemies burn. If you’re already playing a Mage as your main, I would recommend a Warlock to do the same thing, only with the addition of a demon or two.

THE GIRLS IN THE MIDDLE NEARLY GOT TRAMPLED AND THAT PUT AN END TO MUSEDMOOSES BALL

Q4tQ: do you interrupt your gaming time to eat, or do you bring your food to the game? Asking because I’m in the Very Definitely Final Dungeon of what I’m playing and I stopped at what’s clearly a pre-boss HP-restore point because I’ll be getting dinner in a little while and I don’t want to just pause the game for that.

I might be a little neurotic about this, I admit.

If the food is easy to eat with my hands, I’ll eat and game. As long as it’s nothing that needs super split second reflexes, I wouldn’t want to have to choose between a Hardcore Diablo character or dropping my slice of pizza.

If you’re being civilized and eating a proper meal with utensils and everything, then yeah definitely pause. Especially if you’d be in the middle of a big final encounter! You don’t want to lose the flow of the fight, or break the immersion of your final heroic moments in the game. I’d save that for a single stretch of gameplay for maximum effect if I could.

Today’s Bacardi has been busy studying the Race to World First raiders and is pretty sure that he can deliver loot like theirs to you. Unless he’s just interested in staring at Lockenstock because of all of the purple balls that fill the screen. That’s possible too… Hope that he gets bored of them and awards you with some shiny Chrome King loot instead!

Today’s Anna Earworm™: (F)lannigans Ball

Have a lucky day everyone, and don’t drink too much green stuff — it might do bad things to your insides. Make sure to leave lots of questions for Anna tomorrow!
