Here’s what we know so far about World of Warcraft’s upcoming customizable chihuahua battle pet

If you’re the kind of World of Warcraft player who always charges into battle with an adorable pet by your side, then good news — we seem to be getting a cute and customizable chihuahua sometime in the next few weeks. Datamining on the patch 11.1.5 PTR has uncovered Weechi the Wonder Pup, who adores attention and captures it using a variety of silly hats.

While early signs point to this doggo costing a cool 600 Trader’s Tender, it might just be worth the cost if the ability to tweak your companion’s appearance pulls your heartstrings. Each outpost of the Trading Post (Stormwind, Orgrimmar, and Dornogal) will feature a fluffy pink pillow designated as the Pet Grooming Station. Similar to a barber shop, you can tweak your Weechi’s style seemingly at will.

So far we know of four color schemes for the pup itself. There’s black with tan highlights, brown with cream highlights, cinnamon with cream highlights, and an option for an all-white fluffball. The costume options uncovered so far are a red or grey stitched fox hat, a green or purple sewn murloc head, and a blue or grey knit shark head (complete with dorsal fin). It’s hard to pick a favorite because they all look hand-sewn and adorable.

It is unclear if Weechi will come with all of these skins and hats or if we’ll be able to earn them somehow, but the steep cost leads me to believe that this chihuahua will come with at least the options we’ve seen so far. It also seems fairly unlikely that the Pet Grooming Station would be added as a feature for a single pup, so I’d count on customizable pets becoming a regular offering at the Trading Post.
