The Queue: People die and the house creaks

Our house, in the middle of our street.
Our house is a very, very, very fine house.
(Bit violent, though.)
This is The Queue, where we talk about houses, hell houses, and player housing. And we’re all out of players.
Q4TQ: What do you think about bringing back achievements for server first accomplishments? I liked seeing them pop up for various things at various times and seeing everyone send out their congratulations. I never got one. But I thought they were a good thing. It seemed to create a sense of community.
I wouldn’t mind that at all! Those achievements were pretty impressive for bragging rights, and they fostered some healthy competition. As long as Blizzard didn’t decide to turn it into an actual competition and gave people rewards for it, I’d be totally fine with their return.
Do you delve solo? As a group? How often do you do one or the other?
For me, they’re a solo activity. If you want more than like three people, just do a damn M+.
I’ve never tried Delves in a group. I have nothing against the idea itself — however, WoW already has a lot of group activities, so it’s nice to have an actual endgame activity you can do fully solo, at your pace, taking a break whenever you feel like it. So that’s my preferred way to do them, and I intend to keep it that way, at least for the time being.
what are you hoping for the end of expansion story?
cliffhanger, half defeat, full defeat, full victory, new enemy?
:D
I’ve talked about this before, but I expect a mixture of victory and defeat. I think there will be some major threat to Azeroth that we’ll have to deal with — probably related to the Ethereals, and the Void — and we will deal with it. But in doing so, we’ll also allow Xal’atath to recover the Dark Heart from those very enemies we defeated, which will allow her to do whatever it is with it that will ultimately lead us into Midnight.
Do you think we’ll eventually take a trip into Azeroth’s subconscious mind
Yes.
The expansion is gonna be called Neon Genesis Azerothion.
Starring Anduin Ikari, Jaina Ayanami, and Alleria Langley Soryu.
1) If you stop playing a game for whatever reason, how often do you end up picking it up again?
2) What are your big predictions for Blizzcon 2026?
3) Whose death in WoW would be the most troubling? Whose would be the most “meh”?
4) Have you seen a whole lot of owls in towels? Would you like to?
https://owlsintowels.org/
1) Rarely. I’ve tried picking up games halfway through a few times, and it’s never a good experience — I’d rather restart the game from scratch. However, in order for me to do that, I need to really be into the game. More often than not, whatever reason made me stop playing it in the first place will also curb my enthusiasm for restarting it.
2) Given what Johanna Faries told Conan O’Brien in this recent interview, I expect something non-gaming related. I don’t think we’ll get another Warcraft movie, but we might finally get that Diablo TV show, or perhaps an Overwatch animated series or something like that.
3) Most troubling would be Anduin Wrynn, because he’s supposed to be alive to lead Azeroth into the final battle of the Light against the Shadow, according to that one comic. Most “meh?” I assume you only mean major characters (rather than inconsequential ones) for the question to have significance, so I’m gonna go with… Fareeya, leader of the Lightforged Draenei. Nothing against her, it’s just that as far as faction leaders go, she’s definitely the most forgettable one.
4) I had not! I have now. Thank you!
What is the next major gaming release you’re planning to get?
Definitely Fatal Fury: City of the Wolves! Coming 26 years after the last game in the series (!!!), and featuring iconic characters such as Ken and Chun-Li from Street Fighter, as well as Terry Bogard and Mai Shiranui from Fall Guys I mean Smash I mean Dead or Alive I mean Street Fighter 6 I mean Fatal Fury.
Q4tQ: If you exclude games with no story, like Civilization or Balatro, what game have you replayed the most from start to finish?
That’s a fantastic question. Let me check my spreadsheet.
Does Hades count? I mean, it both has a story and is designed to be replayed over and over.
…still, I’m gonna err on the side of “no, that doesn’t count” and pick something else, since I assume you mean “games where you have experienced the same story (or variations of the same story) multiple times.”
I’m gonna go with Chrono Trigger! By virtue of it having multiple endings, I’ve replayed it many, many times — both in the SNES and years later, on my PC. I’ve also replayed other JRPGs of the time (such as Final Fantasy 6) a bunch of times, but I think Chrono Trigger got them all beat. The fact that it’s relatively short certainly helps.
2BE: Cloud & Aerith vs. …a house.
The house always wins.
This has been The Queue Hell House Edition. Cloud and Aerith probably survived the ordeal, though they might have struggled a bit — it is a pretty challenging fight.
Either way, take care, friends, and ask plenty of questions for tomorrow!
