The Queue: Fasolasuchus tenax

I briefly talked about Fasolasuchus in a Queue before. But I didn’t really go into much detail about the animal, a massive prehistoric pseudosuchian in the Loricata, an Archosaur clade that included all living members of the Crocodylomorpha and the various large terrestrial animals once called Rauisuchians.
This was a big boy. It hunted early members of the Sauropodomorpha like Lessemsaurus, which while not nearly as big as later Sauropods was still over 10 meters long and weighed upwards of four metric tons. (I accidentally wrote kiloton here instead of metric ton and had to come back in to correct it.)
I’m Dooooooomed I tell you!!!!!
GoG literally has hundreds of game for under a dollar!
While I discovered that Steam has hundreds of games for free!
My Steam Deck is going to explode. lol
Just on GoG I have been seeing some interesting deals.
It’s not under a dollar (although I live in Canada so who knows) but Wrath of the Righteous is on sale for 90% off. Lords of the Fallen Game of the Year Edition is on sale for 95% off, and the Witcher 2: Assassins of Kings is going for 85% off. Heck, even the weirdly timed new Neverwinter Nights DLC Doom of Icewind Dale is on sale for 50% off.
I could keep going here — Fallout 2 is reduced by 75%, Fallout New Vegas is 60% off, and you can even pick up Neverwinter Nights itself for a few bucks. Luckily for me I haven’t got any money and I’m still playing the same six games. But man, seeing Freedom Force on sale for 1.39 Canadian dollars does tempt me.
The movie 65 starring Adam Driver features a Fasolasuchus, and this video clip from the film is very annoying to me because it says “Mills vs. T-Rex” and that animal is absolutely a Fasolasuchus, it’s a freaking scaly quadroped for Pseudosuchia’s sake.
qftq: which brann hat have you found the funniest?
I laughed when i saw him with a candle hat
Honestly, I hate all Brann’s equally. But whatever that big ten gallon hat thing he wears is probably my favorite hat.
I really liked that trailer, although I do miss the old game engine generated ones from the old days. As has already been stated she’s really got some great voice acting — one of the few times a character actually manages to use a quiet, somewhat detached voice effectively in a video game without making it sound robotic or pretentious.
What’s your favorite comment/dialogue from an NPC? Mine is that little guy in Ringing Deeps, who always tells me, with utmost enthusiasm and certainty that “Bug Glue is Best Glue.”
My cat, who is Bug (short from Kwuggerbug) is never amused that I’m always willing to repeat it to her.
Every time a Dwarf in WoW says “Watch your back” I either say “And maybe get some armor for it too” or I think they’re complaining that my back is dirty. My brain is weird and it won’t stop remembering Baldur’s Gate Dark Alliance quotes.
Just imagine for a moment that thing is walking at you with all of its meat and skin and organs and blood intact, and it’s over 35 feet long. It weighs over 3 tons, maybe as much as four tons. And its a completely upright walking, relatively fast animal, not plodding or slow, with serrated teeth and the ability to rip chunks of meat off with its bite.
Like all of the Loricata, Fasolasuchus has bone armor, or osteoderms that ran down the animal’s back. But Fasolasuchus only had a single row of them, unlike other members of the Loricata save for its relative Saurosuchus. Now, it must be stated that big therapods like Spinosaurus, Tyrannosaurus rex and Giganotosaurus were significantly larger than Fasolasuchus, but other famous predatory therapods like Allosaurus or Megalosaurus were smaller, and the North American predator Acrocanthosaurus was around the same size and weight as Fasolasuchus.
So believe me when I say that if you saw that thing coming at you, you should be afraid. If not for the Carnian Pluvial Episode and a 2 million year drastic increase in planetary rainfall, archosaurs like Saurosuchus and Fasolasuchus would not have easily been replaced by Dinosaurs.
I’m so tired, lmao
I worked a lot today, and although the effort was 100% mental, I feel physically tired AF right now. Had been a while since I got that.
You’ll only find yourself more tired for longer periods of time as you continue insisting on existing. I’m very sorry.
Thinking back, if Varian had lived, do you think he would have glommed onto (live) Calia as soon as she showed up? Even if it was just political?
Depends on what you mean by ‘glommed on’ — I definitely think he would have wanted to bring her to Stormwind if only due to the debt he owed her father for taking him in when he fled Stormwind as a young child. They knew each other and Varian was closer in age to Calia than he was to Arthas or Jaina.
However, Varian had plenty of time to find someone to ‘glom onto’ during his life and after the death of Tiffin, he just plain did not seem to want a romantic entanglement. Still, you never know, and he and Calia might have bonded over both of them having lost a spouse.
Thank you all for putting up with me ranting about Fasolasuchus tenax for a Queue
