The Queue: Just another tuesday

I have a doctor’s appointment in a little bit, and I need to make sure I get the laundry in before that so it has time to run so I can dry it. I’ll probably vacuum a bit later. Maybe go get a coffee if I’m good at the doctor’s.

Anyway, this is The Queue, our daily column where you ask us questions and we’ll give you the answers, just like every other day.

THOMAS STRANGE

Q4tQ: If we really got playable ethereals, do you think their armor would display, like most other races? Or would they be shoulders / belt / tabard only, like dracthyr?

I’d bet somewhere between Dracthyr and Undead, where parts of their gear unravel in the middle and show off their knees or whatever. They might not be able to use hats, though.

SILKSLINGER ROXXII

Q4TQ: Thoughts on the new Archon add-on that allows players to look up your parses at a glance? The only way to opt-out is to hide your character from searchable logs but I assume players will think just as poorly of someone with no history as to someone with low history.

Man it feels more and more like trying to join even the most garbage little pickup groups is like undergoing an IRS audit. References available upon request. I’m not going to opine on the good ol days where we were just uncouth little fools stabbing Onyxia with sharpened toothpicks or whatever, because this kind of thing, were it available 20 years ago, would absolutely have been used as a metric. This is hardly the first one to do it, and like they said, they’re just making it easier for people to look stuff up on Warcraft Logs without alt-tabbing.

I understand why this kind of thing was popularized but it also kinda sucks when you’re just looking for a pug to pass the time. It just isn’t that serious a vast majority of the time. You’re not interviewing to hire a new cardiac surgeon; please calm down.

Q4tQ Any recently-played games to recommend?

I’m still pretty all-in on Sulfur, which is one of those games that I think is fun but I wouldn’t necessarily recommend it unilaterally. It can be challenging, but it’s more punishing than anything, and it’s in early access, which means a steady slate of new stuff but also it can read unfinished at times. And yet, the vibes are pretty great, and it’s a really tight little looter-shooter. I also wouldn’t recommend it to you, specifically, because it’s an FPS and a particularly motion-shake/sickness-y one, I’d wager.

I also started Wanderstop, which so far is reading as, “oh honey no” the shop management sim. It is well done, but I kinda want to send everyone to a therapist (which seems to be where the point of the narrative is going).

And then Liz has started playing Pacific Drive, so I restarted my save. They have a new update coming in a couple of days, so I hope everyone is ready for me to start yelling about my beloved stupid car again — though this is another game, as I tried to caution Liz, which is only for the true sickos at heart.
