The War Within patch 11.1.5 release date is April 22, and it’s packed with new events

World of Warcraft has maintained a solid content cadence ever since the start of Dragonflight and the 2025 schedule for The War Within suggests the pace isn’t slowing down soon. Patch 11.1 sent us into Undermine in late February, and with the roadmap schedule we knew patch 11.1.5 had to come soon. Now Blizzard has confirmed that The War Within patch 11.1.5 launches on April 22, a release date that’s exactly eight weeks out from the previous patch.
While patch 11.1.5 is a minor patch, with no new raids or dungeons, it is absolutely packed with content. In this patch, we’ll be helping the Arathi in a new Hallowfall event, returning to Horrific Visions (a new and improved version), fighting robotic bosses in a Goblin arena in Dastardly Duos, and we’re getting some big quality of life improvements, including a built-in cooldown manager and a leveling boost to get your characters up to par.
If you’ve been out of the game for a while, this patch will be a good time to jump back in. With speedy leveling and a rep catch-up, you’ll be able to quickly jump into Undermine even if you aren’t level 80 yet, and go straight into Liberation of Undermine in any difficulty — including Story Mode and LFR, both of which are available now.
Here’s what you’ll find in the next WoW patch.
What’s in patch 11.1.5?
- Nightfall, a new event that takes place in Hallowfall and gives you an opportunity to push back against nerubian forces pushing into the area after Queen Ansurek’s death. You’ll fight alongside a volunteer militia, Flame’s Radiance, to earn gear and cosmetics. We have a guide on renown rewards as well as how to do the event.
- Built-in cooldown manager, which will make it a lot easier to monitor your cooldowns without extra addons or customization.
- Shadowlands reputations are going Warband-wide, which should make it easier than ever to pick up faction armor sets of different armor types (for those of us who didn’t play Shadowlands with an alt of every armor type).
- Horrific Visions Revisited, in which you’ll need to fight your way through Old God infused versions of Stormwind and Orgrimmar while maintaining your sanity. Like the Nightfall event, you’ll be able to earn gear and cosmetics here. Here’s what we know about Horrific Visions, which will be going live in May.
- Dastardly Duos, a new event in which you’ll take on robotic versions of WoW bosses in a cage match, fighting for the high score and the chance to earn gear and cosmetics. We have a guide on Dastardly Duos, but it will be a while before you’ll be able to use it — the event won’t be live until June.
- Winds of Mysterious Fortune buff, a month-long event that will provide a 20% XP boost for characters up to level 79, as well as a +200% reputation buff for Dragonflight factions and a +100% reputation buff for major The War Within factions — Undermine Cartels excluded. Low level characters will also be able to get XP boost potions, stat boost items, and gear as bonus drops from quests and kills.
- Children’s Week (Running April 28 to May 5) is getting a small update with new cosmetics.
This patch looks like a great one for anyone leveling an alt coming back on a neglected main. New events all have gear rewards, and the XP and reputation buffs will help lower level characters catch up to the latest (or help us level new alts). For everyone else, there are tons of new cosmetics to collect if that’s your thing, as well as new sources of gear to fill out your arsenal for the fight in Undermine.
However, not all of this content will launch at once, and we’ll be waiting a while for some of these events to start. Here’s the launch schedule for all of these events:
- April 22: Patch 11.1.5 release date, with Nightfall event and cooldown manager
- April 22 – May 20: Winds of Mysterious Fortune leveling event
- May 20: Horrific Visions Revisited
- June 3 – July 15: Dastardly Duos
Patch 11.1.5 is coming in just two weeks, so get ready to jump back into the game !
