This week’s free games on the Epic Games Store are Touch Type Tale and Deadtime Defenders

This week the Epic Games Store is giving away two titles: Deadtime Defenders, which is being newly released to the Epic platform, and Touch Type Tale, a very unique take on classic RTS games.

Deadtime Defenders is a fun little looter shooter in 2D. You can customize a lot of things about your characters and their abilities and guns while battling your way through several different modes. It doesn’t offer huge new twists or anything, but it’s a fun little arcade-style game, which can’t be discounted. Especially not right now, because it’s free.

Touch Type Tale is one of those games with a deeply novel concept that makes you stop and take notice, but it’s also so novel it’s tough to tell whether it’s going to feel fresh and interesting or like a mishmashed slog when you play. It’s in many ways a classic RTS, but the way you generate and move certain units is done by (accurately) typing out words that appear on the battlefield.
