Le Queue: The baguettes are okay

For the past few weeks I’ve been playing Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and after a rough beginning where I thought I wasn’t gonna adapt to the combat system, things finally clicked as soon as I started Act 2 of the game, and I’m loving it as much as a Frenchman loves debating existentialism over some coffee and a cigarette.

It’s such a French game, mon vieux.

That outfit on the header picture is literally called “Baguette,” and it’s the first one you find in the game. It’s almost like the devs were completely aware that the internet was gonna make memes with the fact that this is a French game set on a very France-inspired place, and decided to just rip the bandaid off and get on with more important things.

Either way, this is Le Queue and we’re on a mission to answer questions and eat baguettes — and we’re all out of baguettes. Because the characters in that game took them all and strapped them to their backs for some reason. Iunno, maybe they think they’ll get hungry later.

HIGH DENSITY WAFFLE

WHERE’S THE BAGUETTES ARE THEY OK????

THE BAGUETTES ARE FINE, WAFFLE! EVERYTHING’S FINE!!

Q4tQ: Do you wonder if maybe Shadow Priests wouldn’t have latched onto Xal’atath to such fanatical extremes if Blizz added even a single Shadow Priest lore figure pre or post Legion?

Hahaha no. Xal’atath is Xal’atath.

I mean, have you seen her?

It’s not just a Shadow Priest thing, I assure you. That character design with that voice acting and that role in the story? People of all classes and specs and races and factions and ages and genders and orientations and incomes and preferences in pets would be all over her, regardless of anything else.

With that said, I’m totally with you on your dark crusade for more Shadow Priest lore figures — especially ones that are not necessarily aligned with the bad guys. It’s a huge gap in a game that has so many boring old paladins and “same old, same old” mages and vanilla-ass warriors. A Shadow Priest hero (or, more likely, antihero) would be a huge breath of fresh air.

(I do wonder if Anduin is ever headed that way. Probably not.)

Q4tQ How are you celebrating World Goth Day?

I am browsing through a lot of cool art of goth versions of iconic videogame characters. Seriously, the internet has a lot of that. (And the dark — though not necessarily goth — aesthetic may or may not be a huge weakness of mine.)

Q4tQ: what do you think about the new info we just got about Diablo IV’s season nine?

I think the concept of “building your own spell” is super cool. That’s honestly an enticing-enough idea to get me to maybe check out the season — I’ve definitely been slacking lately, and completely ignored the last two or three.

There’s something about Diablo 4 Seasons that feels very different from how Diablo 3 Seasons did, and I don’t know what it is. In D3, seasons were mostly about playing the exact same game but getting a new set of armor that gave you cool new variations on your abilities — and that kind of repetition really worked for me. D4 has seasons that are considerably more complex, with entirely new systems, big changes to the core mechanics of the game, and even new quests and storylines in some cases — but for some reason I just don’t feel as invested, and I’ve only managed to actually get a character to max level on a couple of them. I feel like this might have something to do with the core of the game itself, perhaps: maybe I simply grew more adapted to the more “arcade” feeling of D3, where it largely felt like a “turn off your brain and destroy stuff” kind of activity.

But aside from pondering on this, I might definitely give season nine a try, because the new customizable spell thing does sound kinda exciting.

MOVEWOW

Q4TQ: What is your favorite food to signal starting off the summer with. Mine is cooking anything on the BBQ. This years it’s Chicken Shawarma using Sam the Cooking Guy’s recipe. If you haven’t watched his cooking channel before you should! :-)

I don’t really have any, but man, I love Shawarma. Especially lamb. But chicken is very good too.

Mmm, I’m hungry.

MYTHRIAK

I’m here, now what?

Make yourself comfortable! We have dips and garlic bread. Also, I think MoveWoW brought chicken shawarma, but Waffle definitely didn’t bring any baguettes. Figures.

This has been Le Queue. May you have a very nice weekend full of baguettes or whichever variety of bread you prefer, with cheese, butter, olive oil, cold cuts, or anything else.
