It’s Monday! Time for some WoW maintenance — servers back online!

A new week dawns on a surprise Monday morning maintenance for modern WoW. It should be a quick one, at just an hour, with servers due back up at 8am pacific (11am eastern). The WoW servers came back online as scheduled, and seemingly without issue. Everything’s fine, right?

So why are we having this extra maintenance before patch 11.1.7 arrives on June 17, with its own lengthy maintenance? That’s up to question. We’ve seen Auction House problems throughout the weekend, with the AH being completely online for a time. Oceanic servers have also reportedly had crashes and downtime over the weekend. It’s possible that whatever’s caused this weekend’s issue requires realm restarts to address, which would mean a brief downtime like the one Blizzard has scheduled today. However, Blizzard hasn’t offered an official explanation for this maintenance.

And all there is to do now is wait. It’s good practice for tomorrow’s maintenance, which is scheduled to be a full eight hours… a duration that could require some help staying occupied. (I’ll try to have something interesting for tomorrow.)

I’ll see you in Azeroth (hopefully soon).
