The Queue: distractions
Sometimes, even with the power of Spirit City life is inherently distracting. It doesn’t help when someone accidentally activates your trap card and all of a sudden you’re forced to watch Diana Damrau sing the Queen of the Night Aria from The Magic Flute. See, the music itself is stellar and obviously a lofty goal for any soprano, but the performance itself is what truly elevates the piece. The music is sweet and light, and full of technical runs, but the words — as bolstered by the staging and costuming and acting — show an absolutely unhinged woman laughing at the thought of forcing her daughter to murder a priest. The daughter is beside herself, weeping, clutching a dagger, while this woman swears vengeance, claims she is wronged, and giggles. It’s goosebumps inducing.

Q4tQ:
Since Pandaria is on the menu again, I get to ask one of my burning questions about the storyline/NPCs.
Varian: My son is in danger! Send EVERYTHING to save him!4(Thousands of Alliance soldiers sail out to Pandaria. Many die. Socks dies. (SOCKS!)
(We find Anduin relatively safe and sound)
Anduin: Haha later, suckers!
(Runs off on his own, damn near gets killed)
He wasted every life lost trying to rescue him, and no one ever mentions it – not even players.
AITA for thinking he is a terrible person?
A good half of the conflict throughout much of media, from Shakespeare through the first act of Hamilton, can be boiled down to “some teenager makes a selfish, boneheaded decision only a teenager would possibly make.” He’s not bad, he’s willful and headstrong, and tooootally knows better than adults. They couldn’t possibly understand — they’re adults! They were never young and stupid!
I don’t think he’s bad, just stupid. Flawed is not bad. And yes, he reaped the consequences of his actions by being crushed by a bell, which is cartoonish in its execution but also better than what would’ve actually happened, namely Garrosh stubbing out cigarettes on varied parts of his anatomy for a few hours while they needle him for information (only partially metaphorically). He didn’t think about the consequences for the people involved in his rescue because again, he’s a teenager. Short sighted foolishness is par for the course. He was only running amok because the airship crashed, which wasn’t his fault, and going on an escapade after that as he tries to find aid also makes some degree of sense. Again, if you’re a teenager.
Q4tQ: is it weird to buy hard liquor on a Monday afternoon?
(BTW, the answer is no, because it’s coconut rum for the cake I’m making next weekend)
I don’t think it’s weird to buy any specific item at any time. Free yourself from societal expectation, stock up on liquor whenever you want.
Q4tQ Do you care about the Steam Points Shop at all? Do you customize your profile in any way?
Eh. I check in from time to time, but most of what I purchase tends to be emotes from games I like. The way the storefront works, however, it’s usually around 2-3 scrolls before I hit stuff for games I’m not at all interested in. I just went to check, and it had a bunch of items from the 2025 Summer Sale, then a bar of items from a game I play, then a bar of ‘most popular,’ then Spirit City items, then DotA, which I don’t even own via family share and have never played. Even in the “games I own” section, there are my 3 most recently played games, then TF2 and Left 4 Dead.
