Working on my Night Queue
In the summertime
Unusually cold summertime
Daggerheart Motheboard, Cyberpunk Red, and Shadowrun. What are you favorite features and if running one, what do you borrow from the others?
I’d have to argue that to me, the Motherboard campaign frame almost feels less like a real Cyberpunk style setting and more like Fallout or Gamma World with a touch of Shadowrun in that it makes magic and science feel the same. I have no idea if this makes sense to anyone else, but it is how it hits my brain.
I think if I was going to run Shadowrun (and I’m considering it with the new Anarchy 2.0 rules) I’d steal Kohd from Motherboard, and I’d consider borrowing certain roles from RED like Rockers to create new Shadowrun options. Imagine a Rocker who uses magic (yes, I’m making bards in Shadowrun, leave me alone).
Q4tQ: if you had to spend a day fishing, would you rather go ocean fishing, lake fishing, or riverbank fishing?
If there’s a lake of fire that I could just burn to ashes on, then lake fishing. If not that, then if the River Lethe is available I’d choose that. Then I’d dunk my head in so I’d forget that I was fishing.
Yes, I’d rather die burning on a lake of fire than go fishing.
2BE: The Final Countdown vs. A Horse With No Name
Oh no, out of the corner with a steel chair!
I recommend watching that video just to see the picture of the band. Seriously.

Sung to the tune of Night Moves by Bob Seger.
Q4tQ After we all thought the Live Action craze was dead, Lilo & Stitch and How to Train Your Dragon have been tremendous box office hits. Are we doomed to suffer live action versions of all our favorite animated films now? And is it worth it if we get Black Cauldron?
Look, enormous media corporations would have kept doing this without profitable movies because it’s safe. Sure, they aren’t all winners, but you know you have a built in nostalgia audience to harvest. Some movies like Snow White suffered from a combination of bad press, some really horrible CGI and the fact that Snow White came out in 1937 and nobody who is nostalgic for it is likely to get off of their oxygen tank to go to the theatre, you know?
I just hope we don’t get a live action Song of the South.
Q4tQ: since a lot of people have been running old content for mounts, what’s your favorite weird drop item from past raids?
Mine is and always will be Tiny Abomination in a Jar .
Honestly, I don’t know how weird it is, but I’m always going to fondly remember the weird laser tentacles that Gurthalak spawned.
Okay, that’s the Queue for today. See y’all tomorrow.
