The Queue: Has the Fallout TV series somehow resurrected Fallout 4?

Look, I have no idea. But I know I’ve been playing a lot of Fallout 4 since the Fallout TV series debuted, and I know Fallout 4 is rumored to be getting a new update. This is a game that’s been around for 10 years, and it’s getting updated again.

Meanwhile, Fallout 76 is apparently getting the biggest update it’s ever received, even bigger than Wastelanders, the game that introduced human NPC’s to the game. Again, the likely cause is all the people who loved the Fallout TV show (reasonably so, it’s pretty awesome) and this has me hoping at this point that a Starborn shows up on the show so that Starfield could get some love.

Yes, I’m the only one who liked Starfield, I’m comfortable with that.

HIGH ROLLER FARADAI

Q4TQ: As we leave Undermine, when will Shaw call in his favor from Gazlowe and what will it be?

It’s Shaw. Holding that favor over Gazlowe’s head is so much more important than actually using it.

RJAGODA

The elf on the left kinda reminds me of Katey Sagal.

Honestly, I think they started modeling her after her voice actress.

KALCHEUS

Q4tQ We now know due to the Midnight preorder leak that there will be celebrity posters for our houses. Which major figure do you want a poster of?

Short answer: Ashkandi

Long answer:

HIGH DENSITY WAFFLE

Would velfs be affected if the Sunwell blew up or would that only be a belf problem

I think at this point a lot of people, including a lot of non-Elves, would be affected if the big magical font of power that draws upon the Light via a sleeping Naaru in its heart blew up.

For one thing, while the Sunwell is not as powerful as the original Well of Eternity was, it’s probably pretty close to the second Well of Eternity since it was originally created by the same waters as that one was. Dath’remar Sunstrider also hooked the Sunwell up to a Ley Line nexus causing it draw enormous amounts of Arcane power and now it draws the power of the Light as well.

Remember what happened when the Well of Eternity underneath Nordrassil blew up? Think at least that much destruction. You’re talking the entire Isle of Quel’danas becomes a crater, and likely everything for hundreds and hundreds of miles is at least affected by the shockwaves, likely enormous waves of water are created in all directions that are going to hit all over the north of the Eastern Kingdoms. Quel’thalas itself might be destroyed, if not by the initial explosion, then almost certainly by its aftereffects.

Would Void Elves be directly affected? Probably not, they’ve found a different power source. But would seeing your homeland blown up, after all the stuff that’s happened to their people in a relatively short time (for Elves, anyway) be a big deal? Yes, absolutely it would. Meanwhile, Blood Elves and the few surviving High Elves would probably see even more of their already dwindling numbers destroyed. This would affect both the Horde and the Alliance, especially since there would likely be destruction going as far south as Gilneas from the waves and storms the blast would create.

And then Kalecgos would lose his second girlfriend, so that’s sad for him I guess.

JALAMENOS

I find it hard to believe that corn did not evolve specifically so that when you make popcorn out of it, the kernels are the perfect shape to wedge themselves into your gums.

I call it preemptive revenge evolution.

Afraid that’s all on humanity, my friend. It’s very complicated, but essentially corn is the cultivated descendent of a wild grass, teosinte, and likely began its path to modern corn when two teosinte subspecies were hybridized. Maize and its domestication resulted in a lot of different appearances before reaching modern corn, but at its heart, Maize is basically really weird grass and every weird characteristic of it, including how its kernels can get wedged into your teeth, are our fault.

Mankind’s hubris led to us having delightful popcorn, but the cost was that very popcorn gets in your teeth. We must suffer the consequences of our actions.

So that’s the Queue for today. I hope to see y’all next week.
