The Queue: So I heard you liked the deep and infinite void…
Come to K’aresh, they said. It’ll be fun, they said. It’s all white sand beaches and vibrant purple void sunsets, they said. But no one talks about the arcane energy sunburns, the food that smells great but tastes awful, or the fact that we were going to be immediately put to work in the eco-domes. I thought we were going to have a vacation!
But no, it’s just another quest zone with more chores (and more transmog to collect, so I guess it’s alright).
Let’s get Queuing, my friends.
Q4tQ What are your thoughts on the resolution of the K’aresh storyline?
Curse your sudden yet inevitable betrayal! I don’t think that’s a spoiler. Someone’s always waiting to betray us and we’re never on the lookout for it.
I’m not a big story nerd, so I can only say that I’ve enjoyed hanging out in K’aresh and Tazavesh visually. I think the place looks stunning. I love all the glittery sparkle effects, and the void tinged purple-pink days. You could make a neat vacation resort out here (if you pushed aside the pardon-our-pixie-dust construction projects) — just don’t forget to pack sunscreen, because arcane energy does a number on your skin.
You get raid gear in the Great Vault by doing Delves, right?
You can get tier pieces in the Great Vault for delving, but you can’t just get any old piece of raid loot. If you’re looking for something specific, you’ll need to do at least some raiding.
Q4tQ: what is a manafrog and why does Dimensius want one?
The greatest and most powerful frog of all: one made of pure arcane energy, the will of the frog made manifest.
Of course Dimensius would want such power. It is why we must protect the manafrog at all costs.
(Also if you see a typo in game, bug report it. These things make me crazy.)
Q4tQ What are your thoughts on the ReLegion reveal today?
Blizzard needs to stop trying to call it “LeMix.” In the announcement we were told that the community calls it that, like Blizzard has been pushed to use the term because of the community.
This does not mirror my experience, as Kal himself uses the much more evocative ReLegion, which follows on ReMists. LeMix sounds like a Lecroix knockoff.
Other than that, I quite enjoyed it. There are lots of neat new quirks coming in this version. ReMists was fun, and ReLegion looks like it’s going be an even smoother experience, with more to do, more difficulties to challenge yourself with, and easier to acquire cosmetics (because you don’t have to choose between cosmetics and gear upgrades anymore). I don’t need to be sold on this: I just want to play it. And it looks like it’s coming extremely soon, some time during in patch 11.2.5 which is just a couple of months away. Here are the details for anyone who hasn’t seen them.
Q4tQ: What was your favourite non-hippo animal at the zoo?
The elephant. What a noble creature! It would be so cool to have a trunk! If I was an elephant I could use my trunk to move the mouse and have two hands on the keyboard, a definite strategic advantage!
Anyway, they’re neat. That’s all I’ve got.
Thanks for being here everybody. That’s the Queue for today. Take care of yourself, beware of elephant gamers, and always wear sunscreen, even if you aren’t on a void-crushed world.
I’ll see you again next week.
