Everything you get for pre-ordering World of Warcraft: Midnight

The official cinematic for Midnight was released during Gamescom 2025 and alongside the announcement preorders officially opened for the next expansion in World of Warcraft’s Worldsoul Saga. As with the most recent expansions, Midnight will be available in three editions: Base, Heroic, and Epic and will retail for $50, $70, and $90 USD respectively — thankfully not a price increase from The War Within or Dragonflight. There has been no physical collector’s edition announced yet but there is expected to be one that will include the Epic edition in addition to physical rewards.

Pre-ordering any of the editions will unlock the following for your World of Warcraft account:

  • Licenses for both Midnight and The War Within (if you have not previously unlocked the current expansion on your account)
  • An enhanced level 80 character boost
  • Early access to the new Player Housing feature starting on December 2, 2025
  • Trader’s Tenders to spend on the in-game Trading Post. The amount awarded from the Base edition is 500, the Heroic edition will net you 1000, and the Epic edition grants 2000.

Upgrading to the Heroic edition only grants two additional items:

Unfortunately for partisans of the Void, the Heroic edition has a very definitive Light bias!

Despite all the pushback in The War Within, ordering the Epic edition will grant early access to the expansion

The Epic edition provides the most bang for your buck as there are several additional collectibles and features that come with it. Unfortunately one of those is three days of early access to Midnight, even though early access for The War Within was regarded negatively by many in the community. With other MMOs also providing early access expansion benefits it seems unlikely this benefit to preordering the Epic edition will disappear any time soon.

In addition to the items from the Heroic edition the other rewards gained from the Epic edition are:

  • Two pets: Hopeflutter and Doomfeathers
  • The Voidstrider Raiment transmog set
  • The Voidwing Dragonhawk flying mount
  • The Voidlight Surger flying mount — it switches from Void to Light and back whenever you use Whirling Surge
  • Decor for playing housing:
    • Light-infused Rotunda
    • Void-corrupted Rotunda
    • Light-infused Fountain
    • Void-corrupted Fountain
    • Paintings of Alleria, Turalyon, Arator, and Xal’atath
  • Guaranteed access to Midnight beta
  • Three days of early access
  • Thirty days of game time

That last benefit is probably the most important one as it effectively reduces the price of the Epic edition by up to $15, making it quite the deal compared to the Heroic edition.

One final note: none of the Midnight preorder editions provide any benefit to those who exclusively play WoW Classic. The collectibles and level 80 boost will only be usable in the retail version of World of Warcraft.
