The Queue: For the Hoard

So, it’s not what you think — I have a major problem with storage, but again, it’s not what you think. I have a Google Pixel phone, so I use it to take photos, like you do. But in this last generation, despite it being a major selling point of the phone, they’ve started charging me for storing the photos I take on my phone, and screenshots, and all the photos of birds I take for the Merlin app. This is also tied to my email, so now until I migrate and/or delete a bunch of stuff, I can’t receive emails. Well, I can from the Old Navy marketing department, but not my kids’ schools, apparently. And now I’m also getting messages that my OneDrive, which I use exclusively for my writing and backups, is also jammed with stuff. So many people didn’t configure their OneDrive to backup the stuff they wanted backed up and complained when stuff got deleted, so now Microsoft made it so it automatically backs up your Desktop and you can’t turn that off. The desktop is where I have folders where I shove things like one-off screenshots and memes, so now my writing is all slammed in there next to gifs I thought I’d deleted almost as soon as I used them — but not from the cloud.

Anyway, this is The Queue, our daily column where you ask us questions and I’ll answer just as soon as I finish deleting this terabyte of memes I didn’t even want.

So, Legion Remix is coming along with patch 11.2.5. 11.2.5 and ReLegion are both currently on the PTR, so definitely Soon(tm). Patch 11.2.7 is projected for mid-December. We don’t have confirmed, sourced dates on ReLegion or patch 11.2.5 just yet, but both the rumored dates and good estimates would be at the tail end of September into the beginning of October.

I usually leave it open in a different chat tab, so if I need to refer to it it’s already there, but it doesn’t completely gum up every other channel when I’m in a city. That way I know if the person has been spamming for a few minutes and are probably getting either desperate or dumb enough to take me along. And I do PUG from trade chat not infrequently.

Usually it’s garbage, but sometimes it has its uses!

I think LFR is in a relatively okay place for where it is on the difficulty slider scale, but I also feel like it’s kind of superfluous now.

With the advent of Story Mode, I think LFR is in a really strange place now. It’s nice for mercenary, non-guilded or underguilded players like me to actually see and experience the fight, get a little gear, and all that. But I’ve always felt that its primary role was to serve as essentially Story Mode, letting people experience the fight with a good amount of struggle, but also see what happened in context. So I’m really not sure what the role of LFR is supposed to be, now.

Each tier, the last boss is always the outlier, and a huge pain in the butt. It took me until a couple expansions later to finally get all the achievements for Uldir, because the final wing was some random boss I don’t even remember the name of, and then G’huun, and I queued straight into G’huun and several determination stacks every single time I did that wing in LFR.

I do think that for LFR raid wipe-type mechanics could probably be axed, but I think that the ones that are alright are the ones like G’huun’s, ironically enough, where you need like, 3 people who know what’s going on to do A Thing. If one person can mess up the whole raid that’s never great for LFR.
