The Queue: Plant theft is not a joke!

It’s time for fall gardening, so I’m getting my broccoli and lettuce starts started, and it always cracks me up that the plant store gets very mad about people taking broken off pieces of houseplants to propagate. It isn’t discouraging it per se — I get it, that’s why they’re there. It’s for sale, so they want you to buy it. But there are a few specific types of plants where they try to tell you it is illegal to do it, even if you purchase the plant and bring it home and then later propagate a new one. Those particular varieties, I steal whenever I can, because heck the man. Tradescantia and varigated pothos? Get out.

This is The Queue, our daily column where you ask us questions and we’ll answer as soon as we’re done running from the plant police. It may take a while.

It feels like a complete jerkwad thing to say, but I haven’t preordered because I’m waiting to see whether Blizzard furnishes me with a code. I’m going to wait until the preorder beta window starts opening up, and then I’ll buy it if I don’t have one yet — though, at that point I may be so busy decorating my house I may not even bother preordering.

Yeah, same. While I’ll play horror or creepy games any time of year, with Halloween around the corner and a high of 85 today, I’ve kinda shelved this one until later next month. I’ll probably also do a replay of Saturnalia if I can — seriously underrated, undiscovered gem if you like truly creepy. Just the menu splash screen sounds give me bad, creepy tingles (complimentary).

I just finished The Witness which frankly, I kinda hated. I’m also playing a bit of The Long Dark because Liz was asking about it, and I’m finally knuckling under and just making a video to hold her hand through the early parts so she can get to the part where you can customize your safehouse.

If I am ever not excited about a festival that involves beer and soft pretzels please take my temperature and possibly get ready to call an ambulance because something is clearly deeply wrong.

Though I will say that the one thing that seems to be largely missing from Brewfest is copious amounts of cheddar, specifically a beer cheese to dip my soft pretzel in. There are a couple vendors selling the stuff, but not in nearly the quantities I’d like to drown my sorrows in.

I did not, but for some reason I tend to get their info emails weirdly late. The ones for Overwatch almost always reach me a couple days after an event has started — and since their events tend to be a couple weeks long that’s a good chunk of rewards earning time gone if I weren’t playing on a regular basis. The Hearthstone emails are almost always to the minute of the event going live though, which is very odd since Blizzard uses the same PR team for everything.
