The Queue: The Sylvanas Ukulele Apology Song

The Maw redemption chain,
forged from every oath I ever broke for gain.
Teldrassil’s ashes still whisper my name;
no rhyme can ever fix it, only years and years of pain.

Tyrande, you were right to point at me and draw that bow.
Anduin, thanks for mercy that I didn’t ever show.
“The Jailer made me do it” isn’t true — just an excuse.
But the owl has been so mean to me: it’s time for a truce!

The Maw redemption chain.
Burned a World Tree, swear I won’t do it again!

Hey Gilneas, yeah… I blighted you to goo.
I’m really sorry, Genn, I hope you’ll see it too!
I said “the Horde is NOTHING!” — that was pretty vain…
You guys mean a lot to me — so sorry for that stain!

The Maw redemption chain.
Dunno why I did those things; Arthas put worms in my brain!

Forsaken, I was once your voice and your mask.
But I’ll still come back to lead you, all you have to do is ask!
I turned our home to blight, plague-bombed the Undercity.
Let’s face it: it’s renovated, Tirisfal’s all nice and pretty.

The Maw redemption chain.
Link by link, my old soul is slain.
The Maw redemption chain.
Evil Sylvie’s gone: only the Ranger will remain!

KALCHEUS

Q4tQ are there any video games that you feel kind of stuck on? Either because of difficulty or just lack of motivation?

Oh boy. *deep breath*

For difficulty: Dead Cells, but thankfully that was after I had already finished the “regular” game and was entering the optional difficulty levels. Going from “difficulty 1” to “difficulty 2” was a RIDICULOUS jump, and I noped out of it. And Super Meat Boy. Fun game, too hard for me after a certain point.

As for motivation, there have been a couple. The biggest example I can think of is Zelda: Breath of the Wild. I was loving that game, but I got stuck in the photograph side quest — an optional quest that asks you to travel the world while taking pictures of specific locations in order to learn more of the backstory of the game.

I was already nearly done with the game — all that was left was going into Hyrule Castle itself and finishing it. A lot of people told me that Hyrule Castle is actually the best part of the game. But I never saw it.

My stupid brain demanded that I finished the photograph quest before heading to the castle — for completion’s sake, or what-have-you. I found a guide, but I never really felt like doing it. I kept postponing it, over and over…

…until at some point I postponed it so much that I pretty much forgot how to play the game. Months had passed, I picked it up again, and found out I had forgotten nearly everything. I could no longer beat the harder enemies. It would take a lot of re-learning, and I wondered if I should just start the game over from the beginning.

It eluded me. The ship sailed. Maybe one day I’ll get back to it, from the beginning and do it all over again. But for now, I’m just big sad about it.

A more recent example I have is the DLC for Persona 3: Reload. While P3R itself is probably a 9/10 bordering on 10/10 game for me, the DLC is considerably different in its general gameplay feel: a lot of grinding, and very little story or character moments or charm. It’s widely recognized as “not that great” as a piece of DLC — but it does feature important story in the end. I do want to see that story (even if I’ve already been spoiled about its major beats). But every time I pick up the DLC, I can only play it for like 10-15 minutes — so it’s been very slow going.

But I’ll get there! (Possibly once I’m done-ish with Hades 2 and Final Fantasy Tactics. I wasn’t playing a lot of videogames at all over the last couple months, but those two games have started to rekindle my habit.)

ARTHONOS

1) Q4tQ: What piece of furniture would you drop if killed?

2) Q4tQ: Think we’ll get remasters of FF Tactics Advanced 1 and 2, or a brand new game in the series?

1) The WoW version of an exercise bike. People would kill (me) for the chance to cycle a bit every day!

2) Funny you should ask; FFT director Kazutoyo Maehiro was recently asked that in an interview, and this is what he had to say:

If The Ivalice Chronicles can do well, that’s good for the fans, they can enjoy it. But, at the same time, it shows the business viability of the strategy RPG genre. So that could potentially open the door for doing something with Final Fantasy Tactics Advance or A2, or maybe even sequels and new titles as well. I think I speak for everyone who’s worked on the original Final Fantasy Tactics, and is working on The Ivalice Chronicles as well — we’d really like to see that happen.

So there is a chance, even if we don’t know how big or small it is. Personally, I’d LOVE to see a direct sequel to FFT, in the same original Ivalice. It’s an incredibly lore-rich world where lots of other stories could be told.

I did try FFTA on the GBA back in the day, but I can’t say I really loved it — it was fun enough, and the Judges idea was kinda neat (if a bit controversial), but it’s probably not a remaster I’d get at full price. So yeah, while I wouldn’t be annoyed about it or anything, my hopium is on the “Ivalice sequel” idea.

DR_BOMBAY

as much as i’m looking forward to World of Housecraft, i am nervous and a bit afraid, too. i don’t want my home to be something i love but that visitors find (*gasp*) boring.

Take it as an incentive to really try! It’s not too different from transmog: when you create a transmog set, don’t you simultaneously worry about how much you’ll enjoy it and what others will think of it? That’s what expression is all about! You want to look cool, for yourself AND for the effect you have on others. Your house won’t be too different. Take it easy!

FALLANGER

so dudes and dudettes, how are you finding the end of war within and the lemix?
worth to resub?
i have been with a wow itch
:D

I’ll tell you what: if you have a WoW itch, you should just resub! Remix is perfect for that: it’s an “arcade-like” mode in that you can just jump in and play, crazy fast, destroying things and leveling up. It gives you the full WoW experience, since you can queue up for dungeons and even raids while out questing in the world.

And you get a ton of rewards that you can bring with you to the live game — which you can also check out with that same sub. The War Within hasn’t been a bad expansion at all. I’d do it if I were you! The most important part is the itch to play, and you already have it.

HIGH DENSITY WAFFLE

Farondis just straight up killed Azshara! What ramifications will this have on the timeline?
