Life is oh so hard when you’re an adorable foster kitten
Happy Monday, friends! You know, not all cuteness has to be big and important. Sometimes it’s about the little cute moments — moments like watching foster kittens relax into safe new environment on Wasabi Sushi Matcha.
The can opener (excuse me, cat mom) behind the channel raises three adorable floofs (the titular Wasabi, Sushi, and Matcha) in addition to fostering 40+ kittens.
Watching this new orange kitten settling in with his new foster can opener is just too much. He goes from “I don’t know about you” to “you make an excellent bed, thanks” in roughly a day. This little guy doesn’t have a name yet, but I think with his orange fur and white accents, he looks a bit like a creamsicle or a pumpkin cheesecake. This is also the newest foster!
Cocoa, Marshmallow, and Caramel of the S’mores family have such a hard life. I mean, look at them — all curled up together snuggling, deeply asleep. Then they have to do terrible battle with the food machine, and march water around everywhere. I mean, come on, it’s exhausting.
It’s not all easy snuggles, though — sometimes cat mom has to transition from can opener to nail tech. Maple is supremely not amused, despite being expertly purrito-ed. Meanwhile, Goose is initially so sanguine about his own manicure, although the back toes led to some serious wiggles and hair chewing. Goose and Maple were adopted together and even migrated south to their forever home in Florida!
Recently, they’ve started sharing longer update compilations of past fosters, on the channel and this is possibly one of my favorite pairs — Po and Tato, the po-cat-oes. Tato is still SO chatty with his former can opener, but now with a floofy, majestic tail. It also features some funny past clips from their foster period, where you see the early onset kitten screams still present in grown Tato.
This roundup is truly impressive — introducing all 35 (at the time) cats they’ve fostered over the last four years. Averaging nine fosters a year is wild to me, considering it’s all done from their apartment! Keep doing the good work.
Really, you can’t go wrong with any of the Wasabi Sushi Matcha videos. Want to see more of their kitten content? Check them out on YouTube, Instagram, or TikTok. If anything, we need to find out what the little orange boy will be named!
