The Queue: I’m not one to take a lot of screenshots
Today is Thanksgiving Day in Canada and as a result I’m swapping with Cory so he can have the celebratory poutine and maple syrup meals that I’m sure everyone in Canada consumes at special events. Hopefully while they’re gathered around the television watching hockey or Red Green Show reruns they take a moment to remember their neighbors to the south who are forced to work today.
I haven’t gotten much more progress done in Final Fantasy Tactics this past week because of ReLegion but also because it’s such an intense game and the prep work before a fight can be just as long as the fights themselves. Hopefully though I’ll be able to make some headway soon once I figure out what job to make these characters.
While I internally debate the merits of knight vs squire let’s answer some questions!
Q4TQ: Does anyone ever buy games on gog that they already own on Steam and if so why? For me Steam has way more games. Gog seems to have all the retro games that I enjoy. Gog also gives me the feeling of owning the game that I don’t have with Steam. Which in it’s self part of the retro experience.
I don’t go out of my way to purchase otherwise owned games on GOG but I will pick up free titles that I already own. The problem GOG, Prime Gaming (or whatever they’re calling themselves now) and Epic Games has with me is that I love my Steam Deck. So as a result Steam is my first choice when it comes to picking up PC games. But I do like having other options … just in case.
In your opinion, what’s the best critter to tame as a hunter in Legion?
You can’t tame critters, Raz, just beasts!
But seriously my answer is the tawny-colored cat model in Highmountain for a very specific reason: the Survival artifact acquisition quest chain does not say what happens to Deesa, Apata’s pet. So pretty much all my hunters tame one and name it Deesa to roleplay that she came along with us afterwards.
You can also take one of the dark cat models and name it Dakarr and pretend you tamed him instead of killing him in the same quest chain.
Q4tQ: what game(s) do you have the most saved pictures from? Asking because I moved all my Persona pics into their own folder, and realized that despite only being a fan of the games for the past five years, I have more Persona pics saved than Final Fantasy pics, and I’ve been saving FF pics for over twenty years.
It’s going to be World of Warcraft because I’m simply not one to take a lot of screenshots (and Rarity is nice enough to auto-screenshot rare acquisitions). Or if I do take them I likely never look at them again. Sure I’ll post a pic of a recent mount acquisition in the Queue comments but I rarely go back and look at screenshots — I don’t even know where some of my games’ screenshots are. Most of the time I just paste it into paint, do a little trimming/resizing, and upload and forget.
My Steam profile has 6 images, and one of them is the header image that I grabbed just to throw it into the article. I’m just not a screenshot guy.
Q4TQ: how much do you value story, or /played, to keep playing a character?
hypothetically, let’s say you have a shaman alt, but you’ve played that shaman alt a LOT. it’s your 2nd shaman, yet you’ve had that character since BC, and you’ve played them more than your MAIN warrior, evoker, and DH, for instance. it’s a character who’s been through a lot.
is that reason enough for you to keep playing that character instead of retiring them?
asking for a friend
The fact that I play a character is independent from the idea that they’re part of the WoW story. I have many characters (some deleted and never recoverable) that still matter in my Kalchean World of Warcraft Narrative™ but rarely get an opportunity to be played.
A large part of it is I distinguish between gameplay and lore. I may level a toon through Highmountain or Dornogal but that doesn’t mean they were ever actually present in those zones. There have been entire expansions where none of my characters actually participated in the campaign quest chain lorewise either because they were off doing something else or it didn’t make sense for them to be present for the events.
The characters I do play are mostly hunters because I love to play hunters, but almost all of my characters have a story regardless of whether they’re getting any /played time.
Alright gang, I’ve amassed 100k bronze! How long till Argus happens and I can buy the pretty Mage set for my clothies?
Lemme check our handy article: Argus content goes live on November 18!
Q4tQ:
So the profession-crafted housing items … can they be sold, or do you only make them for yourself?
As it’s currently implemented in the Midnight alpha furniture decor that is crafted by professions is Bind When Used. As a result the items should be able to be sold on the Auction House. I’m kind of surprised they’re not part of the Crafting Orders system, but perhaps it’s not implemented yet?
According to Wowchievement I’m 22.5% done with Legion Remix – am I behind? Ahead? Right on target?
We got almost 100 days left so I’d say you’re in good shape after less than a week. Of course an important thing to check is whether you’re looking at just the exclusive items or all items — to me the exclusive items are way more important than the stuff I can get in the regular game right now.
How has your ReLegion experience been?
Furthermore: I still haven’t started it, but looking at the rewards, I have to get started soon-ish. What can you tell me about it? What do you recommend that I do first, etc.?
Pretty good so far, I’ve made a lot more progress than I was expecting to this first week (sorry Final Fantasy Tactics). I don’t know if I’m ready to take the plunge into Mythic+ dungeons or non-LFR raids but I’ve gotten a sizable chunk of my goals prior to the start of the event completed or near completion.
As for what to do the main thing is to keep visiting Eternus and the other Infinites on their special island outside of Dalaran. Their quests give a good chunk of currency and can be helpful for leveling and for achievements. Besides that try to focus on questing paths in the zones. Both the campaign quests in a zone as well as the side quests are part of achievements you’ll want to complete for Bronze or Housing items and you don’t want to have to fumble to complete them later.
Other than that, have fun!
Can you hide the shorts in the Azshara transmog?
You can not. As long as you have either the chest or legs transmogged you’ll be wearing the shorts. Hiding the legs in the transmog is definitely a choice one can make.

That’s all the time and space we have for questions today! Hopefully everyone had a good weekend whether they got a holiday or not! Be sure to leave plenty of questions for Anna!
