The Queue: October is crazy this year
Just some games that released or are releasing this month:
- Ghost of Yotei
- Pokemon Legends: Z-A
- Ninja Gaiden 4
- PowerWash Simulator 2
- Vampire the Masquerade Bloodlines 2
- Dispatch
- The Outer Worlds 2
Not all of these games are my style, but at least four of them are. I am currently trying to figure out a way to sell my blood or organs so I can afford them. I doubt I’ll find any, so I’m sad. But I probably should hold on to my organs, I suppose.
Q4tQ: How long until someone makes a Lofi chill video with the WoW House?
Considering how heavily the official World of Warcraft YouTube channel seems to go on LoFi, I’d expect something very soon. I’d keep an ear out on Azeroth Ambiance and see if it drops soon.
Q4tQ Should Blizz add summoning scrolls to retail like they have in ReLegion? I feel like Warlocks haven’t had any gameplay taken from them recently.
Only if they made Combat Res scrolls.
Ooh, Steam is testing a new Calendar feature. I think it looks excellent. It shows wishlisted and suggested games by default, but you can filter to just show wishlisted games.
This pretty much inspired the intro.
I love the idea of exporting like a talent tree or saving like a mog set. Didn’t they say initially that you would be able to export?
Found it. From August 26 info dump at WoWhead
Import and Export Features
Following Midnight’s release, players will be able to import and export housing layouts, similar to talents. Though these features will not be available alongside the release of player housing, it is expected in the early days of the Midnight expansion.
Nothing to add, I just thought people would want to see this.
Diablo lore Q4tQ: is there any known afterlife in Sanctuary? Asking because the antagonist of the current season apparently went to the Hells when he died and became a powerful demon, but I don’t get the impression that most people head to either the Hells or the Heavens when they die, because we’ve been both places and they’re pretty light on people. So was this something he had to do on purpose? Do we know what happens to most denizens of Sanctuary when they die?
People who make pacts with various Demons end up in the Hells, in fact corrupting human souls in order to use them as an infinite way to gain more power than the Heavens is the whole reason the Prime Evils first engineered their banishment to Sanctuary.
Angels, on the other hand, do not make pacts with humans. So there’s almost no chance of a human soul ending up in the High Heavens. Instead, before the destruction of the Worldstone, it seems that at least some human souls ended up returning to the plane of Pandemonium and the Pandemonium Fortress, where the Worldstone once resided.
However, what we saw in Vessel of Hatred implies that the existence of a kind of afterlife that may or may not predate the existence of Sanctuary. The Spirit Realm that we enter several times in Diablo 4, especially Vessel of Hatred, definitely seems to be a place where spirits come from and which dead beings can end up traveling to, at least so far as we saw.
However, the way the spirit calling itself Akarat describes his own existence implies that it doesn’t know if it’s the soul of the real Akarat or a creation of the hopes and prayers of the people who believe in the Zakarum faith. So is the Spirit Realm an afterlife for Sanctuary? If it is, is it related to the existence of or destruction of the Worldstone itself?
So basically, we know that the souls of Sanctuary are capable of persisting beyond death, can be brought to Hell by Demons via pacts, could presumably be brought to Heaven by Angels but almost never are, and may or may not go to the Spirit Realm and may have been doing so during the existence of the Worldstone. Indeed the Spirit Realm may have been created by the Worldstone during the time of Sanctuary’s creation, or may even be related to the Worldstone’s original existence, created by the creation of the Eye of Anu much as Pandemonium itself was.
Okay, that’s the Queue for today.
