What we know about the return of the Brawler’s Guild in WoW patch 11.2.7
One of the announcements Blizzard has made for patch 11.2.7 is the return of the beloved Brawler’s Guild, a fight club in both Orgrimmar and Stormwind (well, the Deeprun Tram) which has been on hiatus since Battle for Azeroth. Yet this time, unlike the original where you had to hope to get lucky to get a Brawler’s Guild invite, it looks as if everyone will be able to access this by going to Dornogal when the patch launches.
The Brawler’s Guild is a combat arena where you fight against specifically designed enemies in what is basically a solo boss fight, and each “tier” of challenges has multiple bosses you’ll need to defeat to move on to the next tier. Each match lasts a maximum of two minutes, at which time the floor will kill you and you’ll be forced to resurrect and re-queue for the fight again. In previous versions of the Brawler’s Guild, the higher your reputation with the Guild, the more items you could purchase — as is tradition in World of Warcraft — but it’s also the only place you could earn the Brawler’s Razor Claws heirloom weapon.
What’s new this time around for those of us who have already been to the VIP box? (Oh, yes, there’s also a VIP box you can enter once you hit Rank 8.) This time around we have not only a new color mount for Bruce (an alligator boss you fight early on), but housing decorations, a recolored flying mount, and more. They’ve also revamped the boss list, so there will be new additions to the battle queue, as well as some reworked older fights and some brand new challenges to go along with it.
If previous versions of the Brawler’s Guild are any indication, this wont be super deep content, but it’s an entertaining way to mess around for a few hours and earn some rewards at the same time. If I were to make a suggestion, it would be to go in with some friends or guild mates so that you can not only cheer each other on, but also be able to heckle each other when the time is right. Even better, you can go and give it a shot on the PTR right now.
With that said, let me leave you with the rules. First, the first rule of brawls is you don’t talk about brawls. Finally, if this is your first night at Brawler’s Guild, you have to fight.
