Epic Games Store is giving away two fan favorite horror video games with retro styling for free, to celebrate Halloween. And yes, that does seem like an oddly specific category.

Five Nights at Freddy’s is one of those franchises that just prints money, and its horror angle makes it perfect to celebrate Halloween. This one is quite a departure from the usual Five Nights at Freddy franchise, which is usually all first person and 3D graphics. This one uses a very retro vibe, with a pixelated art style. The gameplay is also therefore quite different but with the same crux: don’t get captured by the animatronic weirdos. Love that for you.

Even though it’s an older title, Bendy and the Ink Machine still makes for a thrilling game to play during the Halloween season. There are several episodes worth of stories to uncover, decipher, and be completely freaked out by. It has a retro vibe as well, but of a completely different era than Into The Pit. More like a Cuphead 1930s animation feel than late 80s video games. It is a very high pressure, high stress narrative puzzle game, which also includes combat, so it’s a fairly unique one and worth picking up.
