The Queue: Faster than a speeding food bowl!
More powerful than a post-walk treat! Can leap on to tall beds with assistance — it’s Marshmallow! If you can’t tell his Halloween costume this year is Krypto, the hero of this summer’s Superman film! … he’s not fond of costumes, hence the dour expression. Still, he looks awesome! And would totally attack Lex if needed.
While we ensure there is no kryptonite squirreled away in our house and steal candy out of the bowl by the front door, let’s answer some questions!
Q4tQ: What are your Halloween goals?
Now that my kid is no longer trick-or-treating I don’t have much to do on Halloween. There are a lot of kids in the neighborhood so I’m sure there will be a lot of standing up and sitting down and handing out candy, so I guess my goal is to get all that exercise without an injury.
Q4tQ: Which of the following would you rather fight: 1 vampire, 10 werewolves, 100 zombies, or 1,000 clowns?
1 Vampire. I honestly don’t care what abilities the other options have, when it comes to a fight numbers matter and while Jackie Chan may be able to take out a dozen people the reality is that it’s almost impossible to win a fight where it’s 3 or more on 1. So Vampire is the only one I might have a shot at.
Of course without the fight parameters it’s hard to say exactly how I’d do in a fight. Outdoors and in sunlight I really think I could take the Vampire.
Q4TQ: what’s your favorite kind of pasta?
You didn’t specify whether you mean pasta dish or just the noodle type — so I’ll answer both!
In terms of pasta I’m particularly fond of penne pasta. Spaghetti or linguini is fine but I’m not fond of the long strands and yes I break my spaghetti before putting it in the water — come at me!
For a pasta dish I like a good twice-baked lasagna with ground sausage instead of beef.
When do we think the Night Elf/Blood Elf housing exteriors will be ready?
You’re in luck because in the Beta announcement we were told that it would be available during the second or third week of testing.
Of course I’m still trying to figure out what Night Elf exteriors would even mean since it seems like most of their buildings are open air.

What culture do you hope get more Housing decor before Midnight launches? If Draenei, Dracthyr, and Tauren get more stuff, I’ll be pretty happy (also, I know that Pandaren are the first-in-line neutral race to get Housing exterior/interior options after Alliance/Horde races through Worgen and Goblins, but I do really want Dracthyr options so that I can just live inside the Ruby Lifeshrine).
Outside of that, what other stuff are you hoping to get more of? I’m realizing I need a wider variety of various plants, especially trailing ones for walls. Also, more natural-looking rocks (and big, not-constantly-hovering-and-bobbing crystals, Blizz). A log or two would be nice as well. Also, the fireflies.
I know everyone is expecting me to answer “More Dwarf stuff!” … and they’re right, that is towards the top of my list. I’d also like to see Highmountain Tauren and Vrykul decor — especially the latter as it’ll go great with my Vrykul Lord’s Chair I earned in ReLegion.
In terms of items I have two main wishes: a wide variety of rug designs, and holiday decor — especially Brewfest. I want a pretzel wreath to hang on my wall.
If/when we get dwerf haus, would you prefer stand-alone house style or dug-out style housing?
While dugouts would be cool I suspect it won’t be feasible with the way the neighborhoods are currently designed. What I’d really like is the ability to replicate one of the Dwarven Inns like the one in Thelsamar — whether or not we can will depend on whether we can have giant outdoor kegs.
How likely are we to see more, the same, or less of the below characters in Midnight?
Jaina
Thrall
Anduin
Baine
In reverse alphabetical order:
Thrall — if we see him at all it’ll be more than we saw him in The War Within. Why is he on the splash screen again?
Jaina — maybe the same? I don’t see her sitting out Midnight entirely, but her role will likely be limited like in TWW
Baine — any appearance would be more; if history is any guide he’ll be kidnapped by Xal’atath and we’ll need to rescue him
Anduin — it’s an expansion about light vs void; I’m expecting a huge Anduin presence by the end
What big game announcements are you still hoping to hear in 2025?
There’s really only one major event left on the ol’ gaming calendar: the Video Game Awards in December (and the associated shows taking place around that time) so we’re definitely running out of time for announcements. Still I have some hopes.
My big VGA prediction: we get a Midnight trailer with a release date announcement.
I’m still hoping to hear about a new Persona game; I know they announced P4R this summer but Atlus hasn’t been shy about marketing multiple titles at the same time in the past.
I’m still waiting on dates for some games — Coffee Talk Tokyo seems sadly delayed until 2026, but we think we’re getting a release date announcement at Wholesome Snack Direct.
Other than that it would be awesome if Nintendo announced Metroid Dread 2 as part of the Metroid Prime 4 release marketing.
Q4tQ:
What was your fave costume for Halloween when you were a kid? Either your go-to getup or just one you were really excited about?
I don’t know about fave because my memories are pretty hazy, but I always seemed to have been drawn to “dress up” costumes. I think I was a businessman one year, and then I was Clark Kent another year — although for all my swiss cheese brain knows that was the same year. I also pulled off an excellent Joker in High School if I do say so myself. And of course I was wearing a tie for it. Oh, I did Dale Cooper from Twin Peaks one year as well … man why did I want to wear suits and ties so much for Halloween?

And here’s Marshmallow practicing for next year’s costume: the Headless Dog!
That’s all the time and space we have for questions today! I hope you have a good holiday if you celebrate and eat lots of candy even if you don’t. Have a great weekend and don’t forget to “fall back” your clock if you’re in a region that’s doing so this weekend! Ask lots of questions for Cory as he’ll have an extra hour to answer them.
